It's funny how the most tormented supporters have chosen to push back on this, and I get it, but Starks has absolutely made me feel better than a night at Laser Quest. You can throw all your "Liverpool have won things, misery" tunes but that window is a disaster that quite rightly needs to be celebrated. The only thing that makes me feel better about our business right now is the clusterfuck list above. It's magical, and don't let anyone tell you it's not right to revel in the diabolical nonsense of another team to make you feel slightly better about your own nonsense, regardless of recent history

Bacon’s character in Beauty Shop is one of my favourite of all time.

I think it was the biggest need prior to the window opening and it’s the most glaring omission in it to date.

Werner and Johnson especially are timid and too keen to come back towards their own goal. We really needed someone who can consistently run at people to improve.
But some on here keep saying Werner is only a loan although there was no need to keep him. And John’s still young at 23 after how many years in the PL and champo abd has potential.

He plays both wings and AM but he is like a technical Dele or like Bruno Fernades, great in and around the box, good passer, great finisher, decent dribbler, but lacks explosive pace, so not what we need for the wing IMO.
We don’t need explosive pace as we don’t play on the counter. We have pace with the others. We need a skilful technical player not another speed merchant.

Johnson is indeed young and has potential to improve with age.

Personally I think we were too quick to take Werner back on loan and it makes me wonder if his resigning has made us potentially have no room for a better option.

Yeah he did elaborate. He said he wanted to get principles locked in. He said this summer those are in now so it’s more about details now
Why’s it take a whole season for principles to bed in? Does that mean o er the course of last season the provisioned were bedding in? Meaning the players should have got the principles understood better by the end of last season. If that is the case how comes we shipped in goals for fun and results in 2024 would have us mid table. The greater the principles were locked in the worse we became.

I wanted him the summer we signed Richy. At Leeds he just looked like he had everything we needed to be a winger. I would be all over bringing him here loan or otherwise. However I am not certain as to how convinced he would be to play for us. The scum like him too. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were in for him should he become available.
Sane wanted him then as well.

Always loved streaky bacon x

This I can get on board with to a degree.

Werner seems a lovely lad but isn’t our answer imo. He’s awful in front of goal and I think he leaves us vulnerable when he inevitably fluffs his lines.

Very much on the fence with BJ. For all the xG/xA stuff, he looks flimsy.

I’ve not gone too deep into the transfer thread, but we need consistently dangerous & productive wide players for this system to be effective.
Eze is definitely one we should be aiming for.
And he seems like a top bloke too, which we also need more of to detract from people like Biss and his balloons.

Depends how Ange sees it.

If Gray is right back depth and Bissouma/Bentancur are seen as the two challenging to be the 6 then it means the only "8s" we have are Sarr, Skipp and Bergvall.

I imagine Skipp will be moved on tbh, whether loan or permanent.
and Devine and Donley. All for 1 position. and that is a big IF that we don't see Gray as a midfielder.
