I genuinely believe the list was:

1) Nico Williams - What was a difficult deal BEFORE the Euros, then became an unrealistic one… He was either only going to Barca or staying home.

2) Desire Doue - Once Bayern & PSG became involved, game over.

3) Johan Bakayoko - His recent comments in the media about wanting a team “That can win the Champions League” and Ange’s recent comments about only wanting “players who want to be at Tottenham” tells it own story.

4) Pedro Neto - Massive risk because he has appeared in less than 50% of Wolves games in the past 3 seasons. Chelsea were clearly willing to go where we weren’t and I’m ok with that.

There’s still talented players of the required profile out there, even though we’ve seen the likes of Summerville, Philogene, Gruda & Nusa all moving this summer.

I doubt we go for Coman especially at those wages, Adringa looks more likely all things considered.
He did not say exactly that he want to play for a team that can win the CL (basically it's between Real M & Manc City now a days9.
Bakayoko's comment:
"I'm not going for a mid-table Premier League team. I will summarize it very briefly: I want to be able to become a champion, play the Champions League and play myself in the team.”

He's a real talent yes; but, even though I haven't seen that much of him, I have my reservations about him - more about his attitude than than his footballing talent. And despite of his talent no "big" club have come in for him for whatever reason...but if Ange & co. goes for him I would support that decision...

I’m not sure why you’re talking up United as a comparison.

They’ve massively underachieved since Ferguson retired and are, arguably, the worst run team in the Prem (with the exception of Everton) in that period.
2 FA Cups, 2 League Cups and a UEFA cup in the last 8 years, I dream of us being as badly run as that.
They have an additional 100 million to spend over us each year meaning they can afford to make an Anthony-sized mistake every year (which they generally do) and still be on par with us.
On par with us lol with our 0 trophies for 16 years and 2 in 25.

If you think United are a well run club who have realized their potential since Fergie retired then forgive me for disengaging. Have a great evening.
Pretty sure I was replying to another poster who was claiming signing "raw" players was a better approach rather than signing the likes of the aforementioned players who have contributed to United winning trophies in the last 2 season while we've won sweet FA. but likewise have a great evening mate.

It also doesn't help that on many occasions in the last 16 years, we've gone out to clubs with better resources than us. Especially in cups, you need a little luck.

Whilst Levy hasn't done enough at times, try to remember we have had two league tilts (falling short at the end) with the entire country against us, lost multiple cup finals and gone out in many more semi finals.

Being close but no cigar could point to nearly men, but is that not also evidence of progress?

We won two cups in the 1990s. We were fucking shit. We are so much better now, we just live in an era where we are almost always fucked by the doped clubs.

Who have we gone out to that have had better resources than us in the last say 5 years?
You don't have to mention the CL final, that was sabotage by the then gaffer and golden boy.

Eh?

yeah, progress needs to be capitalised on it's no good saying hey guys we made progress so lets stay as we are.

We won 0 cups in the 10's and so far we've won 0 in the 20's.
