Yep, bit weird having more games this season and less players than the 2nd half of last season. The changes are Bergvall, Gray, Odobert, Solanke, Spence in. Emerson, Sessegnon, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Gil, Solomon, Lo Celso (probably) out. Very happy to see that lot go , Sess was never fit and we're more suited now but still 2 players down. We really needed that left sided defender.
But we have more players who will actually play now. Less numbers but a deeper rotation.
Wonder if we will make a late move for coman similar to vdv and bayern wanting rid injury prone but deadly. A loan with no obligation would be a decent move and seeing the Woolwich go for sterling now opens it up
Levy would be looking for, a purchase but with no obligation to pay for it.
I've highlighted the 4 players from last season who probably made zero contribution (Sessegnon, Gil, Solomon and Lo Celso).
So if anything we've brought more useful players in than have left so in reality we are stronger both in having more players and quality of them.
Not to mention a vocal proportion of the supporters wanted 3 more out (Emerson, Hokbjerg and Skipp)
Son and Johnson both had better numbers but from January last season Werner was our best forward in a lot of his starts but he is ridiculed.
Less bodies but all of them can do what Ange wants. I am concerned over the depth on the left side of defence, but there are solutions. Micky can play out there, as can Spence, and Radu or Davies can then play CB if Micky has to shuffle wide.
Fingers crossed that if Micky or Destiny have an enforced absence, that it doesn't overlap.
I'm very happy they're all gone. Think Lo Celso contributed though, played a part in 24 matches. The other 3 i agree, could have done without them.
Ange's system is the left sided backup defender so we're all good
