This window has been shockingly inadequate no matter what some have convinced themselves.

It’s the hope that kills you, but I guess I still hope for an out of the blue last minute attacking signing. I know it’s not happening, but someone in the club has to see that we’re not good enough?

I conceded the point about us having different expectations for this coming season. You clearly implied that this window should have been used to make us title challengers for the season, I’d just like to know what moves would make that happen?
You have a very nasty habit of making stuff up and then claiming people said and arguing against your own made up point, the sign of an outmatched scoundrel. Where in the quote below did I say we should be title challengers?
There is no guarantee of young players improving the level of the team, it is a gamble as the poster stated, a gamble which a team claiming to be competing for trophies shouldn't be taking.

I stand by what I wrote, the level of the first team hasn't been improved anywhere near what it could have been, the depth has been half heartedly addressed by pinning a lot of it on teenagers coming good as well leaving clear positional depth needs short as per and it will cost us again. If that's good enough for you then we clearly have different thoughts on where the club should be aiming.
Did our own manager not claim to be in the title race last season and did he not also at the start of this season declare he normally wins things in his 2nd season which is why I would have expected us to have done more to be in a position to compete for trophies, nowhere did I say the title itself which even the gaffer has stopped mentioning after all of the huffiness at the end of last season about "win it yourself if you don't want your rivals to win it".

You've listed 7 squad players there who made 121 appearances between them last season and they've been replaced by 3 teenagers and you think this constitutes a guaranteed raising of the floor because of what happened under Poch and Jol?
You didn't address the question quoted above, which incidentally was the whole point that started the discussion, you instead tried to move on to theatricality and deception but that doesn't work on people who can see through it.

Hmmm

Not so sure about that.

Remember Davinson and the 3rd CB last summer.

If we’d got Reggie out faster I have no doubt we’d have got a lefty defender in. The way the budget is being run so tight in terms of reducing the wage bill, it’s screaming to me that Levy wants to maximise the value of club to any investors
Absolutely no way on earth Levy doesn't sanction a goalkeeper signing (be it loan or permanent) if Ange specifically stated we need a back up GK.

Ivan Toney off to end his top level career in saudi arabia. Think it shows much of his attitude, no prem club took a bite at 40 million, (arse really could use a forward) and Toney himself seems ready to just end his international career and chance at winning anything substantial when he could choose a club next summer or better yet resign at brentford and knuckle down
would anyone still take this guy over Solanke?
Better of to backdown spend another season with the bees, may be Levy will offer £20m next summer for good attitude.

How dare he choose to secure his family for generations instead of "knuckling down".

Do you think Solanke came here out of the kindness of his heart, do you think he's told the club "donate my salary, I just want to knuckle down"?

on the CB/LB sutuation:

"No, and I don't think we're in the same position. I think Radu is a different proposition for us, and certainly with Archie coming into the group and and Djed probably not being in the plans initially, but now in I think we're in a much different position than we were last year.

We've got Ben Davies as well, obviously, who can play at centre back or at left back. But again, I mean, that's the discipline of it. Yeah, we can go out and sign another centre back, but if the right player's not there, I'm not going to do it. It's as simple as that. I'm not, I never have, I never will.

For me, it's about getting the right people in and there wasn't an opportunity for us to bring in someone who I thought was going to add to our group, so we don't do it. We've got Ashley Phillips, we've got young Luka Vuskovic available next year. Two young centre-backs.

I don't want to block their pathway by doing something now. It might look from the outside, like we've got another player, but if that player is not going to be suitable to what we're doing and not going fit in, why would I bring them in and potentially block the path for somebody else."

That's fine if he is happy utter, if it all goes south which it probably will, then he has to be accountable for that.
We are putting too much pressure and emphasis on youngsters, who are inexperienced in this league.
It's asking g for trouble, but he is our manager and it's our team so we have to go with it.
