So are we to believe that Postecoglou isn't actually telling his wide forwards to take on their man? Or that he chose people who can't/won't. And if that's the case why aren't we hearing/seeing him ranting at them during games?

Is that tweet appearing ok for you in the post or do you have to click and view it on Twitter?

In answer to your question, I think he does want wide forwards who can take on their man (hence our link to Neto in the summer).

I think Ange wants a variety of wide players - Johnson is clearly being told to cut in to become more of a support striker in centre (hence his 6 goals this season) this season versus last season when he got 10 assists and 5 goals. playing more wide I think the change is to ensure Spurs score as many goals as possible, and may be linked to Son's likely decline in speed on left which will give him less goal scoring opportunities from left.

But we have bought both Odobert (a LW/RW) who can take on tyheir man and Yang I think is similar. Whilst Mikey Moore is more of a wide forward (left and right) rather than a winger

Yeah I can see it in the post avove.

If he does want his wingers to go 1 on 1 then it asks serious questions or raises serious concerns for me. Either he's lying about getting final say on transfers, or he's just not being offered anything remotely like what he wants. Despite the rumoured reliance on being a data driven acquisition outfit. Or he's just letting the players do what they want regardless of his original instruction.

I mean if the table was successful attacking duels then you can understand, but that makes it look like we don't even try.

Odobert and Neto were the two we wanted to sign, so it's quite clear that was the plan. Add in Yang Min-Hyeok (as a youngster) and it's a clear profile we knew we lacked and wanted.

That table is almost certainly skewed by playing style of teams and opponents faced. I wouldn't pay attention to it so much and just use the eye test.

Having a 1 v 1 specialist doesn't help us against the teams the way Brentford, Man Utd and Everton played against us. They were open and we picked them apart with the help from our creative players and a target forward.

It's why players from most bang average teams rate so highly on these sort of lists, because opponents aren't sitting back in low blocks against them. Means the likes of Kudus (who's elite 1v1 tbf) , Traore, Semenyo, McNeil etc fair so highly on them.

And if any of those above signed for us for example, their numbers would decrease significantly. However, it IS a tool this team lacks. The player who can go both ways, manipulate the ball in a way that has opponents committed, can slow the play down to force commitment and can beat a man over and over, it does help against those lower blocking teams. I think Odobert will come really good for us in that regard.

Maybe all, some or none of the above. I'm pretty sure he a) wanted players who can do 1v1 stuff. b) doesn't just let them do what they want - we've seen bits of training sessions where they are coaching wide players on either side and what others should do when they get there.

As far as the recruitment goes, again, it's hard to figure out whether Ange is having last say on a "list" provided, or whether he puts forward his own list (my guess is the former). This all sounds a bit Poch 2015 to me, where he stated he had final say on who comes and goes, but we had a DOF/Head of Recruitment - Mitchell (and Webb) - who actually doing the lifting - finding players to fit Poch profiles (Peak Pochettino: how a golden age of recruitment transformed Tottenham | Richard Jolly) and this worked pretty well - Ali, Alderweireld, Trippier, Son to name same during this phase - but in 2016 Mitchell left and the media reported Poch insisted we didn't hire another DOF type over him and he was given more say in Transfers. It was at this time onwards that our recruitment turned to absolute shit. Not all on Poch, but we no longer had a proper functioning recruitment set up. It was Steve Hitchen/Poch/John McDermott/Levy and between them they made a dogs dinner of it.

I think we are now gone back to that type of 2014-15 structure, and have a whole new set up with Lange and a proper recruitment team - scouts, analysts etc. I think Ange says what profile, Lang/recruitment team do the research/scouting and present Ange with a "list" that he works to hone with them.

At least, I hope that's how it is. I don't want a head coach having more input than that or selecting his own lists. Coaching and recruiting are two very different things and should remain fundamentally separate departments - except for the obvious cooperation in profiling and approval.
