Management The Ange Postecoglou always wins stuff in his second season positivity thread: evAngelists only

I've always said there's only two reasons for getting g rid of a manager in this part of a cycle: being in a relegation battle and/or losing the dressing room.

Neither of those apply so obviously I'm not changing my position.

I will say this though: Postecoglou is a very UNLUCKY manager. Every ricochet falls to the oppo like a through ball; every injury happens at the worst possible time; VAR chooses to ignore a clear red card that would have changed the game... All these little things...

None of this is an excuse. It's the opposite. Like Napoleon said: give me a LUCKY GENERAL.

Poch got a lucky deflected goal that probably saved and then kick started his Spurs career.

Then a horrific handball decision that kick started the end of it.

We need a lucky manager

u sure about the 'unlucky' charm?

Cucurella got his Snow white cinderella boots on --gifted us 2 lovely goals as chrissie present.

I was Ange in big time. Now I’m thinking of visiting a hypnotist and asking him/her to make me a Leyton Orient fan , could they also help me lose two stone whilst they’re at it .

I suppose the upside is all the Celtic and Oz fans will leave the forum so we can wallow in misery by ourselves now.

Still not Ange out, because if I could, I would want Tuchel but it's not possible now. Nagelsmann wouldn't come. And I don't see the others being mentioned as a significant improvement at all, not with Levy here anyways.

I still believe Ange will change and tweak his approach. He just doesn't like to confess his wrongs in front of people.

Nobody says it was easy.
I don't want another managerial fiasco and back to choosing a new candidate 18 months later.

But that’s who we are mate.

Levy might wait to see if Ange can get us to the league cup final and the. Sack him a few days before - just for nostalgia’s sake

It's people like you why our fanbase is irrevocably broken and we'll never win anything.

Yes, let's sack Ange and replace him with _________ until he loses a few games and you'll can for him to be sacked. Like that's worked at all for the last 20 years.

Just support the team or fuck off. The fact you'll actively come in here just to troll your own fellow fans just shows what you really are.
Because mindless happy clapping has also been proven to work.

ENIC/Levy are the real problem but Ange should still be doing much better than he is.

I’ve been an Ange in guy up till yesterday because he just won’t change. We can’t go after teams for 90 plus minutes. It’s actually physically impossible.

At 2-0 sit in and let them come at us and open them up on the counter and at the start of the second half go after them for the first 15 minutes and then sit in again. At 2-0 we had a perfect platform for plan B but we make it a basketball match and far too open. We don’t have good enough defenders to play that way and it’s impossible for midfielders to cover the ground with the space that leaves. It’s suicide football.

Either Ange stops being stubborn and changes his ways or we look for a new manager.

I don’t want Ange to go because he’s got something I really like about him but his stubbornness will see him sacked.

This league is far too unforgiving to play that way.

I see a lot of fans on social media saying how he's struggling compared to what Conte, Mourinho and Poch achieved. I think what a lot of people forget is they had prime Son and Kane, with also players like Dele, Dembele, Vertonghen and Alderweireld.

He lost one of the greatest striker the world has ever seen on the dawn of his first league match, he's also had to put up with big wage cuts and 2 injury hit seasons. It's not fair to compare him to those before him.

There are areas Ange needs to improve on such as his in-game management, making proactive subs and making those small tactical changes. But sacking him now just adds a name to another list of managers failed by the hierarchy. The next manager will suffer the same, and so on.
