The bloke with the Drum

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

As I was reminded about him in another thread, I brought him up in conversation in the White Horse before the game. Apparently, the reason he stopped was because he had been getting in for ages without a ticket,as they use to usher him through with his drum. Then a jobsworth/professional steward(delete where applicable) asked him for his ticket, and bobs ya uncle.
Not sure if its true, but the thought of him getting in for nish for a good few seasons made me smile

As far as I know, his name was Dan (aka 'Dan the Drum') and I'd heard it was due to a jobsworth steward citing 'Health'n'Safety' as the reason he couldn't bring the drum in any more (maybe the beaters were seen as potential weapons, I dunno) hadn't heard about him getting in for free though... seems all a bit; "...when football was better in my day, you could stand for thrup'pence and get the bus home with half the 1st team for a shilling!"

Yeah I brought him up. You said your hungover brother sat in front of him and didn't remember him as fondly is i did.
If he was getting in for free or someone thought he might use part of his kit as a tool, someone got the wrong end of the stick. Da Dom Dom. Double drum pun. Someone call 999 tell them I'm on fire.
All shit jokes aside. He did create an atmosphere that you don't get anymore. If he was getting in for free I wouldn't begrudge him that. I think the most likely scenario is in today's fucked up, boring politically correct world, someone sitting near by sued him for damaging their hearing. It wasn't your brother was it?

hahaha naaaah. He only had the hump that one game.
Yeah, he did help create an atmosphere,it has to be said.
And I wouldn't begrudge him a freebie

Just tweeted the Drum man on twit, He said he wasn't the original but was the last bloke to do it he was friends with the original but he was getting in for free for years and then got found out so he took over.

He has had talks with the club about coming back and there on board so should hopefully be back soon.. Can only help the atmosphere to be honest think it needs a bit of help at the mo which pains me to say..

Dan the Drum was on the podcast some time ago

Thelonious Thelonious - were you there for that one?

Anyway, IIRC he was asked to stop drumming because of H&S.
