It’s pronounced Boh-da, btw. (I just found this out!)
If you’re speaking Norwegian with a heavy british accent, I suppose.

You wanna make a bad season worse by losing to, and finishing behind, west ham? A team who may have sacked 2 managers by the summer?

Fact is, they're the best team we've played but not very good, and we still served chances up on a plate for them.
I'd like to say "oh but we played so well in the first leg 2nd half" but I would be lying on the basis I passed out cold on about the 38 minute mark on the sofa from sheer fucking boredom.
Best hours sleep I've had in years to be fair, so thanks Ange.

Would you have given up either of the top 3 places under Pochettino to have won the FA Cup in either year?

Would you have given up any of the two second places under Pochettino to have won the FA Cup in either year?
We only finished 2nd once.
5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

In answer to your question, no. Because that season we finished 2nd, we had a good run at the title. We haven't done that since 1961. We've won 3 FA Cups in my lifetime, 5 since that title and 8 in total.
I'd argue the 3rd place for a whole while was a title push too.
And the 4th place was the season we got to a champions league final.
There's nothing to swap for me. I would have rather maintained those league positions but won 2 extra games. The 2015 league cup final and, obviously, the 2019 Champions league final.

Personally don’t give a toss if we haven’t played well in Europe, or have had an easy draw so far.
We have had easier draws before and failed, I was there all through the run in 83-84, can’t remember if we played well or not in the earlier rounds, and doesn’t matter, we lifted trophy.

Will anything change in respect of manager if we somehow win trophy, not particularly, he will go, won’t be remembered fondly whatever happens, we will still have the biggest problem left at club, Levy anyway.

So just going to forget about the rubbish season, and hopefully cheer us on to a trophy
Well that's all well and good when you're looking back having won the thing.

Personally right now, my issue is that we haven't played well in either the league or in Europe this season, and so I have no reason to believe that we will all of a sudden perform to a high level for the remainder of the competition. That might be ok for the semis and we make it through anyway, but I highly doubt we will also get away with it in the final.

That is dampening my excitement quite significantly.

Well to be honest that’s on you.
If you can’t get excited about your club being in a European Semi Final, then maybe football is not the sport you should be watching

A poor player who should never have been brought in last summer but a player who has been treated badly by the manager. Doubt he minds too much though, he’s on a very good wage and seems a decent professional chap so is probably just getting on with things and turning up for training.
That's the thing innit - this is why even though I give player ratings on their performance I don't really comment on why they're shit - too many variables man manager, system, setup, in game coaching, coaching staff I have no idea anymore so I keep my mouth shout and just...

Who said anything about not being excited? Regardless, you don't really get to gatekeep football based on how you think people should manage their emotions.

You're point about not recalling performances in 83-84 when thinking back to having won is entirely irrelevant to how people should be feeling right now about games still to come. I'm sure if we do go on to win it absolutely nobody will be moaning that we weren't impressive enough in the earlier stages.

Well there you go.

Still

You would never in a million years come on here in a game where we lost and missed numerous sitters and say we were unlucky.

Ever.

Which is a dangerous game to be playing though, it's not necessarily that simple to just switch on and off as you please.

The league games should be used to maintain form, fluidity, etc. And the repeated hammerings and embarrassments will take their toll on confidence, regardless of how much we tell ourselves it they don't matter, or the players aren't focused on the league anymore.

If you try to assume the view that say VDV/Romero won't suffer the confidence hit as they weren't involved, well maybe, but they also aren't maintaining match fitness for the "important" games either.

As for Ange, the manager that was so high and mighty about the City game last season, he has absolutely no excuse for doing so. Can he really claim to have not had his eye on the ball for Forest/Liverpool because he was beavering away doing his homework on Bodo?

100 percent.

’85.

They can pronounce it how they like. As far as I'm concerned it rhymes with Bozo.

It's like that Hyundai advert. If a salesman tries to tell me how to pronounce it I'll fuck off with my money to Kia next door.

Have you ever noticed how foreigners get narky when we don't pronounce their words their way, but flat out refuse to pronounce our words our way?
I had a French French teacher at school. She kept nagging at me to say words in a French accent. I pointed out numerous times my name is Matt, or Matthew, not Mattiue so stfu. If I wanna say "pally view onglay" I will

I would if we were actually unlucky and we genuinely missed sitters and were really the better side.
There's not many games in this era of Spurs I can think of where that's true though.
