I think it's a self preservation thing for me..... Got carried away far too many times in the past and always end up disappointed.

Having said all that.... And I'll say it quietly..... We look quite good with options in most positions.... And its an incredibly young group of players who've all grown up through the u18s etc... so fingers crossed!!!!

And there I go again......

I think the team needs a Foden type player to step up over time. Plenty of athleticism but a little maestro type player could go along way. I'm not sure if Foden is the answer but he seems like the closest thing we've got

That's bullshit. England have an embarrassment of riches going forward. Only Kane is truly irreplaceable from the front three. Some great full back options, plus an increasing amount of quality in CM. The only real weakness are CBs and question marks over Pickford. France and England are the stand out teams in Europe at the moment.
