I don't think anyone is, people are just moaning for the sake of it and picking holes because they can, Tuchel is without doubt what England needed, someone with a clear tactical plan and identity and isn't scared to drop names from the squad, everyone should be going into next Summer's tournament with 100% optimism of winning it under this guy.
Yeah I think Tuchel main issue when he came in was to find a midfield balance. Rice sitting in the 6 just never worked but previous managers persisted with it to get the big names in. Crazy to think England started the last tournament with Trent in midfield beside Rice!

Wharton is the weapon in the back pocket but Tuchel knew he couldn't rely solely on him so gave Anderson his opportunity and has been rewarded. Now he is looking at Scott. Previously these would be English midfielders that would never get a look in. Not the profiles that get the respect they deserve in England (think Michael Carrick). England always go for the "sexier" profiles like Mainoo, or else the naive idea of playing Bellingham or Foden deeper and assuming Rice will cover all their deficiencies as a lone 6.

He's the first England manager in my lifetime who is prioritising team balance over shoehorning in the big names. Southgate had success at this initially because England had no real big names in 2018 (bar maybe Kane and Ali), but he bottled it completely in the last euros when he tried to jam foden bellingham and trent all into the same team and didn't build his team to suit any particular player.

Turned the game on very late, just after Wharton subbed on. Within 2 minutes of watching he'd made about 3 crisp first time forward passes that none of the Spurs CMs could dream of making.

We need to sign that guy.

This the ship firmly sailed on that one, basically the way I see it Wharton/Anderson are set for bigger things than Spurs, bigger clubs who pay more money.

Wharton can be a legit Real Madrid level player.

I think it's pretty darn unlikely, and would've been impossible if Levy was still at the helm, but I think we might have a small chance if the stars align.

I think the new leadership won't be a stingy as Levy and I could imagine them splashing out on one big statement signing - a bit like Woolwich did with Rice (a player no-one thought would go there if you'd asked them a year prior). I think our squad is in a place where we need quality over quantity, and we'll need to spend big to get that.

Some of the other big clubs are already stacked at CM and are, to varying degrees, limited by PSR. If we make him our primary target and go in big with a 90m bid or something, I think we might have a shot.

But yeah - probably like a 5-10% at best even if we go in all guns blazing.

It's not so much about what we do, it's where these players see themselves - their current trajectory is bigger than playing for Spurs because they will be bigger clubs after them.

Bukayo Saka sparked major injury concerns moments after scoring for England in a World Cup qualifier against Serbia. The Woolwich winger was captured hobbling by ITV cameras before he made a concerning gesture to the bench which suggested he needed to be substituted.

However, Saka appeared to be moving much better in the following few minutes before heading over to the dugout at a break in play to change his boots which appeared to be the reason for his gesture.

Rat, he was asking to be substituted not to change football boots. The later boots thing was just to try and cover up his request and keep in Tuchel's good books.

Months back I wasn’t sure about this latest England team .. seemed like we’d declined a bit. Frankly though this is the most balanced, tactically able England team I’ve ever seen.

World Cup will be hard - France and Spain are extremely strong, Argentina are a very competitive unit etc. But we now have serious talent united behind a serious coach and team spirit. I think in recent tournaments we’ve had 2/3 of those but lacked the tactics Tuchel brings. He would never have Foden playing off the left.

How? We're considerably better, and will be better still against teams that actually try to attack us. Serbia were supposed to be the tricky tie of the group yet we have spanked them 7-0 over 2 legs.

Honestly I don't get what some people expect from England.
I don't read the game the way a lot of you do. Tactics and formations bore me. I just want to feel some excitement watching the national team play, and I don't. So much talent - and, yeah, some teams park the bus against us, blah blah blah - but it all strikes me as dreary. I'm glad we won, the first goal was nice, I'll be watching the World Cup...I just want some thrills.

I wonder if part of the problem is Matterface because I thoroughly despise him

Ha! At least it's just the one weird couple digging their heels in. A few years back they woulda found plenty of idiots happy to slag him off.
"He's not as good as he's made out to be..."

Made out to be by what? His scoring record for his clubs? His scoring record for his country? His assist record?

You could say his passing ability is overrated, but it's not.

Is it because he defends better than any other forward in the World?

I'm struggling here guys, someone throw me a bone?
