As for Kane, I don't think the fact that he's not as mobile or physical as he once was is enough to not see him starting games. He's still the best goal-scorer in the world alongside your Lewandowski's and Haaland's. His lack of ability to press if you try to play that style can be a concern, but that's down to Thomas to figure out.
He doesn't press but he is good at closing passing lanes and angles. Still puts a shift in in defense and is the top CF for defensive corners.... And he scores a shit load

Good as he is, I still think Bellingham has the edge if I was picking between the two. Albeit they are very different players. Maybe Tuchel can be the one to get a tune out of Foden for England too and then you have three world-class players that can compete for that number 10 role. You could always use Bellingham as a false 9 if Kane was out or you wanted something different which then creates a space for Palmer.

Personally I think Bellingham is best as a box to box 8 and Palmer is a 10. I don’t see them as the same role. I think it’s Foden that is the one to be left out with Palmer ahead.

I don’t think you can leave Palmer out. Even in a shit Merasca Chavs team he is absolute quality. He just creates out of nothing.

Bellingham and Rice wouldn't really work though as a two, Rice would get exposed. Only way it works if you limit Bellingham, but him not getting forward at every opportunity would be criminal. Tuchel knows much more than myself though so I'm sure he will be able to figure it out. But with Kane up front I think you need pace either side and runners who will get beyond him, which is why he will pick Saka on the right and Gordon or dare I say Rashford on the left. That leaves a lot of top players for just one or two central positions.

Tuchel's already screwing this up...

...he's supposed to do the same thing as every coach before him and every England supporter wants and that is to recreate the Lampard/Gerard issue by picking the biggest names and supposed 'best' players. Instead it looks like he's trying to be clever and actually build a functional team while leaving out players that don't fit. This sounds like trouble...

If we continue to play Rice as a #6 we'll have the same problems we had throughout the Euros.

As for Kane; flank him with pace either side and task them with running their bollocks off and we're good.

...In short; learn from Gary's mistakes.

We already have our 6, zero need to play Rice there at all, I agree he isn’t a 6 he doesn’t have the passing range or what is termed press resistance for that. Wharton if fit has to be the guy, a pure 6 if ever I saw one, let Rice l play where he plays for Woolwich as a ball winning box to box midfielder.

Wharton has looked really good for Palace the last couple of games so as long as he now stays fit he's perfect for that 6 role. That allows Rice to play as an 8 where he can use his running power to much better effect.

On the left I can only see it being between Gordon and Rashford. Saka, when fit, picks himself on the right. Tuchel's biggest dilemma will be benching Palmer, though his form over the last month or so would make it much easier than before.

More football media speculating on things they have no idea about - no quotes from Tuchel himself or any of the coaching team so this bares fukk all apart form the usual 'Journos Writing for Money' shtick. To hyped us into going into knee-jerk crap to stir up conversation.

I will reserve judgement until the squad is announced & when I see them live in person at Wembley till then I see no point in even considering this speculative bullshit.

4 goalkeepers?
Burn has been good for Newcastle but cmon man.
Jordan Henderson back?
Rashford straight back in aftrr a couple of good performances?
Quansah?? when the fuck was his last game?
Tbf even solanke has just come back from a long lay off.

Bring Southgate back.

Gibbs-White and Forest top 4 but can’t get picked. Gallagher dominating in La Liga but Henderson?

As you say 4 GKs?

I can see why Bayern fans hate him.

I can't see Maddison getting back in the England squad ever again tbh.

He's a long way behind the likes of Bellingham and Palmer. Then you have Eze and Gibbs-White who have passed him out on league form and represent a similar level. Now you have young talents like Rogers and Nwaneri knocking on the door. Good chance he is now behind all these names in the pecking order.

I thought Henderson was a bit under-rated and under appreciated... 3 years ago! Seems a bit mad to select him when Gallagher has the same sort of game but is much younger.
