Player The Injury & Suspension Thread 2025/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

While I have made time to watch the matches this year (often questioning the decision at the end) I haven't had the time with new responsibilities to keep up with injury news. Is Deki still alive?

Forecast Return Dates
v Atletico (CL)
Udogie

v Notts Forest
Romero (Concussion)
Palhinha (Concussion)
Galllagher
Van de Ven (suspended)

April
Kudus (Early)
Bergvall (mid)

May (maybe earlier)
Kulusevski
Bentancur

Others - Davies, Maddison, Odobert,,,,,,,,, Bissouma (unclear)

Given the difficulty in getting accurate info, the forecast hasn't been too bad with the 5 players (Udogie, Romero, Palhinha, Gallagher and Van de Ven), expected back for Atletico or Notts Forest matches likely to be back according to latest missives from the club with the added bonus of Bergvall's early return from injury tempered by Solanke's (hopefully) minor issue taking him out of Atletico game along with Gallagher's virus so it should look like

Back for Atletico - Romero, Udogie, Bergvall
Back for Notts Forest - Palhinha ?, Van de Ven ?, Gallagher ? (plus Solanke ?, Richarlison)

I guess the question after that will be whether additional players return for Sunderland and other matches in April

Potter (Sweden manager) said at his Press Conference to announce his squad for March internationals Potter said: "Dejan is making progress but not as quickly as we would have liked."

The player thought he might be back after last September's internationals, whilst Frank said (after medic briefing) that he hoped to see him play before end of 2025 ...... so forecasting Dejan's return date is not one to bet on.

v Atletico - Udogie gets 24 mins, Bergvall gets 16 mins, Gallaagher gets 9 mins, Romero played 81 mins and Van de Ven 90 mins,

Good to see them all back, particularly those who have been out injured for some time.

Reported that Tudor said Solanke had a minor hip injury but likely to be back to face Notts Forest.

So the squad known to be fit tonight including all those who played tonight looks like

GK - Vicario, Kinsky Austin
CB - Romero, Van de Ven, Danso, Dragusin
FB - Porro, Udogie, Spence, Souza
CM - Gray, Sarr, Bergvall, Gallagher
Fwds - Kolo Muani, Tel, Simons

15 outfield players

Expected back for Notts Forest

CM - Palhinha
Fwds - Solanke, Richarlison

That brings us up to 18 outfield players being potentially available v Notts Forest

And then a 3 week international break before Sunderland on April 12 - the 3 week break maybe time to get a couple more players back ( Kudus, Bentancur, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Davies and/or Maddison - Odobert out until next season ?)

Team News pre Forest Live blog: Spurs vs Nottingham Forest, Premier League | Tottenham Hotspur

1 Palhinha back, Solanke expected to be fit to face Forest

2 Richarlison back from suspension

3 Team news | Maddison 'hopefully back before the end of the season' | Tottenham Hotspur

4 Kudus and Bentancur - Recovering nicely, but no date on return atm.
Mo and Rodrigo - both out since January - have both returned to ball work as they continue their rehabilitation. "We have this big three weeks after the game on Sunday," Tudor said. "I don't know, probably some part of the things with the squad, maybe 10 days. I don't know, I'm not sure, we need to check, but he's progressing very well – already with the ball. Rodrigo (Bentancur) as well,

No news on other players.

The ultimate confirmation that our recent predictions of players being fit in today's team news. Players fit enough for today's ,match squad :

GK - Vicario, Kinsky
CB - Romero, Van de Ven, Danso, Dragusin
FB - Porro, Udogie, Spence, Souza
CM - Gray, Sarr, Bergvall, Gallagher, Palhinha
Fwds - Kolo Muani, Tel, Simons, Solanke, Richarlison.

18 fit outfield players - 10 to start match and 8 on a bench full of first team players. Hope Vicario gets fit as soon after his international break operation.

Quite a simple mistake to make.

Mbappe had mistakenly put his left shoe (labelled 'L') on his right foot, and right shoe (labelled 'R') on left foot. So doctors did the MRI on the leg with boot say 'L' thinking it was left leg, when actually it was the right.

Not doctors fault - player needed to be careful putting his shoes on correctly.

I'll close the door on the way out !
