Player The Injury & Suspension Thread 2025/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If Roberto can instill some quick one-two passing into this squad, and if we can get one or two players that can deliver some actual progressive passing, then next season I think we should START to see this unprecedented injury situation start to abate.

Our injuries won't go away overnight; there is real damage that has been done to this squad in terms of successive incompetent managers and a lack of rotation, but I think it has finally started to sink into the analysis of our situation that - in a serious way - Spurs have actually selected for these injury problems and made a bad situation much, much worse. By selecting runners and athletes over players with notable passing ability, our players spend more time lingering over the ball and presenting a physical target for rough tackling, as well as emphasizing physical exertion, dribbles, and sprints over progressive passing and movement off-the-ball into space.

It's all well and good to have a few talented dribblers, but it's been absolute years since the club seemed focused on coaching passing and attacking patterns,

Ali Gold reporting what De Zerbi said :

Kulusevski has been out of the country as part of his rehabilitation from the knee problem that has kept him out for more than a year after getting surgery on his patella. The attacker had a small procedure in March to clean out his knee and told reporters in his homeland back then that he had his sights set on playing at the World Cup for Sweden this summer.

The 26-year-old is unlikely to play for Tottenham this season, but De Zerbi said that after a text exchange with the player, he could be returning soon to at least be around the squad for morale on matchdays, like Ben Davies and James Maddison have been doing recently.

When asked if he thought Kulusevski could still play at the World Cup next month, De Zerbi said: "I don’t know the situation well. I hope so but I don’t know his injury and I can’t say nothing more. For me, it’s difficult to understand how he can play at the World Cup if he didn’t play any games this season.

''But I texted him (after the Vila game). He told me in the next week, I think, he comes back and I hope he can be available to stay with us in the last game because he is an amazing player."

Maddison off bench to play for Spurs for the first time in a year - played about 20 mins (including 13 mins added time).

Unlucky (or PGMOL bias) not to win a penalty.

Hopefully no reaction to playing time.

The defence looks more confident with Kinsky in goal. I hope I am not jinxing but I feel Vic isn’t right for coming in now.

I'm a huge Vic fan

Romero well on his way back to fitness, which is good news.

Probably Argentina being in World Cup this summer is an incentive for him to get fit - but also means he will be either fit to start preseason or to pass a medical if he's going to be sold.

Never seen Romero personally put a video out of himself nearing full fitness.
A reminder for his national team coach and any potential suitors that he's fine and back soon ( not soon enough for us though )
