Competition The Non League Football Thread ⚽

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I was looking at the betting for the National League winner. You can get 100/1 on 'The Stones'. (same for Boston Utd and Tamworth). It looks like the bookies think these 3 are the contenders for relegation. Is that a fair assessment?
Wealdstone are always 'faves' with the bookies to get relegated. Yet they always survive, despite being the only real part time club in the league.

That's changed slightly this year where the manager, his team and a big portion of the playing squad are going full time, a sort of hybrid. Think we might surprise a few people, especially if we can sort the goalkeeper issue - they've all been shite for a few seasons.

I think Oldham could be a good bet to get promoted.

Bringing in the younger fans is vital to any club especially non league. I remember a very long, long time ago getting free tickets for Spurs games when I was at secondary school - I was already a fan by then but it hooked in a few others..

WEALDSTONE EXPANDS "TICKETS FOR SCHOOLS" INITIATIVE

Wealdstone FC is delighted to announce that our highly successful "Tickets for Schools" initiative will continue for the 2024/25 season, with exciting expansions. Building on the success of previous seasons, where we have proudly given over 2,000 tickets to local schools, this year, we are doubling our efforts by offering 4,000 free tickets to students across the community.

The initiative has always been about bringing football closer to our local community, and this year’s expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to making football accessible to the next generation of fans. We will be working closely with schools in the Hillingdon and Harrow areas to distribute these tickets, ensuring that more young people can experience the thrill of live football at The Vale.

Wealdstone FC has built strong relationships with local schools, and Sacred Heart Primary School has been a valued partner for many years. Ms. Fahey, a Year 6 teacher at Sacred Heart, shared her appreciation:

"Wealdstone FC are at the heart of our community and provide many exciting opportunities for our school such as free tickets, opportunities to be mascots on match days, players visiting our school and leading workshops, and allowing us the use of their pitches on a weekly basis for fixtures. Sacred Heart are very grateful for their support and enjoy maintaining links with such a great club!"

Danny Kindell, Wealdstone FC Director responsible for our Community activities, expressed the club's dedication to fostering community connections:

"Wealdstone FC is committed to being a community-centered club, and our relationship with Sacred Heart Primary School is a testament to this dedication. By offering various opportunities and support, we aim to enrich the lives of young people and strengthen our local connections. We look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership for many years to come."

As Wealdstone FC continues to grow, we remain dedicated to our role within the community. Schools that are not yet part of the "Tickets for Schools" initiative but are interested in participating are encouraged to reach out. Please email us at [email protected] to discuss how your school can be involved.

I missed this, another youngster signs for Wealdstone.

FORMER READING STRIKER JAHMARI CLARKE SIGNS
Wealdstone FC is thrilled to announce the signing of 20 year old former Reading FC striker Jahmari Clarke on a short-term deal.

Jahmari Clarke began his footballing career in the youth setup at Reading FC, where he quickly rose through the ranks. He showcased his talent early on in the U18 Premier League, where he made 23 appearances and scored 13 goals, underlining his potential. His performances earned him a place in Reading's Premier League 2 squad, where he made 25 appearances and added 8 goals to his tally.

Clarke made his first-team debut for Reading in the EFL Championship in August 2021, in a match against Preston North End. On November 6, 2021, Clarke announced himself on the big stage with a memorable brace in Reading's 2-1 victory over Birmingham City, his first senior goals for the club. Over his time with Reading's first team, Clarke made 12 appearances in the Championship.

In addition to his Championship experience, Clarke also featured in the EFL Cup, making 2 appearances and gaining valuable match experience against higher-level opposition.

Seeking further development, Clarke joined League One side Forest Green Rovers on loan during the 2022-2023 season. At Forest Green, he made 4 appearances, scoring once, continuing to hone his skills in a competitive environment.

Clarke’s talents have also been recognised on the international stage. He has represented Jamaica at the U20 level, making 5 appearances and scoring 3 goals, showcasing his potential as a future star for the Reggae Boyz.

Enfield Town off the mark in their second match in the National League.
Bring on the Wealdstone next season.
They're not in the national league :disdain:. They're in the NL South.

If you're going to try and have a dig / get a rise, then you really should have some idea of what you're actually talking about!

Although... both Wealdstone and Enfield both play in a league more highly thought of than the SPL - Aberdeen wouldn't win a game in the NL / NL (south).

Surely he's gets more than 3 matches?
I certainly hope so, I can see what he's trying to get the players to do, however we have a shite front line and a worse keeper. Some 'hardcore' stones fans are more fickle than Spurs fans!
Finding a Non-league manager has to be a hell of a task, really. Like trying to find lunch in the rubbish bin. There's probably something in there that won't make you sick, but it's not likely to be anything you really want.
This is the first time we have a full time management team, the expectation is a lot higher.

Lewes FC 5 wins from 5 and top of the Isthmian Premier. Very surprised due to the almost complete turnover of players and staff. Plus the club is financially not in a great place, and at a bit of a crossroads with what to do with the women’s team who are now crashing down the leagues.

Wealdstone still busy signing youngsters.

We are delighted to announce the signing of promising young forward Callum McFarlane on loan.

McFarlane has had a slightly more unorthodox start to his career than most. The youngster was unsigned until 18 years-old, before joining Fulham from Bradfield College and joining up with the U-21s. McFarlane signed his first professional contract at the club prior to the 2022/23 season.

The 20-year-old has played the majority of his football so far in Premier League 2 with Fulham, and boasts an impressive record in youth football.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Jack Wells-Morrison on loan.

The 20-year-old has had a stellar career at youth level representing the Eagles. A diehard Palace fan, Jack has spent the entirety of his youth career in South London since joining the club at six-years-old, working his way up the ranks into the U21 squad, and even the first-team match-day squad on four occasions.
