Did you think that this season would start so badly? One win in 13 league games, having lost 7 and drawn the other 5.
The gap between Wealdstone and 'safety' is getting ever wider.
Lots already calling for the head of Taylor although some are saying he still needs time. IMO time is running out.
Next 2 league games are at home (Yeovil & Braintree), have to win both.
No, not at all. I really thought we'd finish in the play offs. Seems to me that Taylor has his favourites and sticks with them even though it's not paying off.
That's a lot of dough per season! Crikey! On the Wealdstone forum one of the Directors posts on there.
Anyway a lot of fans are pissed off with the current performance and some have not only blamed the manager but also the board, this was his response which I though was quite interesting and insightful...

My intent in this post isn't to challenge how people feel about the current situation, but there are few things that are worth addressing so fans know where we stand. Most of these won't come as a surprise because they've been stated many times before. It also won't cover all the points people have raised, apologies for that.
We had a generational management team in Stu and Matt and sometimes it's hard to see it until they've gone. What they achieved with the resources they had at their disposal was remarkable and it's no surprise to us that they are now challenging at the top of League Two. They'll push on beyond that aswell.
Finding their replacements was challenging. We don't have a competitive budget for this division, the average weekly wage for a player in the National League is between £1,200 - £1,500, meaning the average weekly wage bill is somewhere around £25,000 per week. Over a 52 week season that's £1.3m. And that average is dragged down by clubs like us, Tamworth etc, so in reality many clubs are somewhere around the £1.5m a season. Barnet we believe are around £1.8m.
When recruiting a new management team after Stu and Matt left and after David Noble, it was clear that we are miles away from what experienced managers at this level want versus what we can afford. For example, the managers themselves want between £100,000 - £150,000 a year plus bonuses, £50,000 - £70,000 per year for their assistant, a budget for their coaching staff. Then they want a competitive playing budget at least in line with the average in the division. They were not interested in managing Wealdstone; when they became aware of our constraints most didn't even want to go through the process.
I understand the clamour to hire someone with experience and I've heard the names fans have discussed, those individuals were spoken to and they did not want the job. A couple of them are still out of work, they'd rather not have a job than take a job with us at a lower salary and with our constraints - the jeopardy for them is too high.
So once you understand the market you're in you then look for rough diamonds, managers/coaches we believe have high potential and can use Wealdstone as a platform to push on. That starts to lead you to assistant managers at other clubs looking for their first management job, coaches at u21/u23 level looking for their first management job, managers at a lower level, managers who have dropped out of the EFL etc. We hired Matt and Paul because we believe they are the best people for the job that went through our process.
When things start to go wrong or don't appear to be working, you then have to look at the circumstances. We do have a big squad this season and some of that is down to the number of subs on a match day and the extra National League Cup competition which requires us to field a number of first team players. That doesn't mean those squad players would be expected to be starters each week, yet the injury crisis we've faced has meant we've done exactly that. And then supplemented the squad further with young loan players who lack experience. We are/have been missing players who would start every game and until that is resolved, it's very difficult to see where things really stand. Any club with our resources missing the likes of Mundle-Smith, Eastmond, Kretzschmar and Adarkwa would find it a challenge to replace them.
I also saw a comment about the media team. Just to make it clear what we do and don't have this season, we have a paid Media and Content Executive who is on minimum wage and contracted for 21 hours per week. That is all we can afford right now; a volunteer Head of Media isn't possible because the demands are so high in a professional league. That means we have to be selective about how those hours are used, including not spending hours on the road to long distance away games when they could do the media coverage remotely. It's far from ideal but we have to be pragmatic. We only have 1 other person supporting Will and she has a full time job at The FA so is only available on match days. We are working to add volunteers from UCFB now universities are returning but we have been seriously understaffed. As a comparison, Worthing FC are advertising for a Head of Media on over double the money we can offer.
We've got a really big month coming up with the FA Cup on Saturday and then significant National League fixtures. We can't stop people analysing what is going on so all we ask is you continue to turn up and support the team and MT. They are doing everything they can to try and turn this around.
Someone else then asked about the stadium, to which he replied...
BornundertheElmslie
Sorry, yes, I meant to respond to this separately. We are actively working to finalise next steps on the new stadium and the aim is to announce this month. I can't promise that because things can always go wrong but we are at the closing stages.
We are also actively talking to potential investors. This takes alot of time and we have to be very confident that whoever we put in front of our supporters as the next potential custodians of the club, are credible and will get their buy in. We've spoken to many interested parties in the last year, some decided not to proceed for various reasons, others we decided weren't right because their proposals crossed our red lines.
There isn't a single board member who would stand in the way of new people coming in with the money and expertise to lead the club and help realise its potential, there's no ego or entitlement with this board.
Imagine a member of Spurs' board posting so candidly on here!
Interesting to get a little peak behind the curtain, and as you go up it gets exponentially more expensive. Have been wondering how much Dag&Red sold for, but never uncovered anything. On the Wealdstone forum one of the Directors posts on there.

The Dripping Pan? I was in the Lansdown last Sunday before the game.Lewes drew 2-2 at home in a top of the table clash with Billericay to stay top.
4 points between 6th and 1st.
Portadown winning 1-0 at H-T after a 4 game losing streak which started when I gave them the kiss of death by attending the game vs Ballymena.

They couldn't IMO.Interesting to get a little peak behind the curtain, and as you go up it gets exponentially more expensive. Have been wondering how much Dag&Red sold for, but never uncovered anything.
Assuming the stones could pull off a miracle, how would they cope with promotion?
Away up North...not the best draw but could be worse I suppose. Will be immense if the Daggers pull it off. Used to know a Crewe fan, but have lost track of him now.Winning clubs in the first round proper will receive £45,000 from the FA Cup prize fund, with losing teams collecting £15,000.

This is the first year of the hybrid situation, where around half of the staff are now full time. Around 95% were part time till this year.
