Liverpool will get beat at chelsea guaranteed. Liverpool will have one eye on the CL and rest most of their players like they did at everton the other week before their 2nd leg with citeh.

If we bottle 4th it will be the biggest bottle job of all time. Did anybody have a few quid on us to finish outside the top four the other week? It was 100/1. If we do fuck it at least spurs can buy me a nice holiday to try and forget about it should the worse happen.

Hope you did not put too much on us not making the top 4.

The 9 days between tomorrow and the Watford home game works for us in every single aspect.

If we fail to get top 4 this season then Pochettino's legacy would be over before it really begun.

The guy won't let that happen.

I really hope you are right mate. I just have grown to always fear the worst when it comes to big moments like a top 4 finish, tomorrows game etc as down the years we have fucked it way too many times. I really wish I diddnt feel this way!
Call me negative Norman! :harryhmm:

I think we will just scrape in tbh (fingers crossed).

The fixtures for us looks good but they also looked good in the 15/16 season where we needed 1 point from southampton home and newcastle away to clinch 2nd. We ended up losing both those games (1-5 against a team already relegated who had 10 men....and to southampton at home where we took the lead). Disgraceful really.

Mate you are right.

Why do you think there are so few posts on tomorrow's game and since the Brighton draw.

I just think we are a slightly different beast and that losing to City was disappointing but no disaster and that the draw at Brighton was a knock-on of that and down to us being too reliant on Kane.

But I am with you in that experience sullies the mind but think we will leave every drip on the pitch in hopefully our last 6 games.

That will be enough.

Rushing kane back was a complete mistake. being unfit he's hindered our performances rather then help. Not his fault but he shouldn't have started these games. When fit, he is world class as we all know. It may be all to get him fit for tomorrow but surely its done the opposite. A proper rest is what he needed.

I disagree. A proper rest never benefits Kane's performance, if anything he always takes a while to find his stride after a long lay off or break.

We need him back up to speed ASAP and game time is the only way that will happen

It was actually even worse than that, having only drawn with WBA and Chelsea before the final two matches, giving us a grand total of 2 points from our last 4 games. A repeat of that performance and we could well miss out on CL.

The lack of confidence in here is frightening.

Weve lost 1 game (against the champions) since December.

The difference being that, having missed out on the title, the players didn't care enough about finishing 2nd and above the scum. It was obvious in the performances and Poch basically says it in his book. This season, they do care about playing in the CL next year (and no doubt getting a big fat bonus). Relax people, we will be just fine. No need to panic just because of two disappointing but fairly predictable results, are we that used to winning all the time that a two game winless run becomes a mini crisis? Have a bit more faith.

I put £6 on it. Win £250 if it happens. Would obviously still be gutted, and I'd hate it to happen, but it'll be a small consolation at least.

For what it's worth, the odds on Chelsea getting into the top 4 are still 33/1, or about a 5.5% chance.

Just so frustrated that poch didn't take the Brighton game seriously.

I know what you mean with him not taking the match seriously, but our fringe players should have enough in them in order to put Brighton away. Of course they won't be as strong as our 1st XI, but what's the point in having these players if they aren't capable of getting a result at the likes of Brighton?

IMO it was the right call, regardless of what the result was. I'd have said the same if we had lost to Brighton. Mourinho did the same for Yanited so we would have been handing the advantage to them. We have enough in the bank in the league. The priority this week is the FA Cup semi final. We've got to have faith that we will have enough in the league and be bold and go for the cup glory. The alternative was tiring our players out in and prioritising the top four, which would have been too risk averse/too conservative. I feel strongly about this. Poch would have got flamed either way, the manager always does in these situations unless he wins every single game regardless of team selection, which is not realistic.
