Needing Brighton to get something at the Emirates...

We are extremely lucky that Woolwich, Chelsea and Man Utd were just as shit as we were lately. In different circumstances we’d have been 5th or 6th by a long time. It’s so fucking annoying how we go into the last game of the season needing to win. We all know how it ended the last time we needed a win. I just can’t take this fucking season anymore.

I hope we invest in the summer, the players get their form back in pre-season and we go into the next season all fit and ready to keep up with the top.

Cardiff have now been relegated.

Which means along with ourselves, none of our rivals play teams with anything to play for within the next 8 days.

Woolwich at this point are relaying on the europa league to get to the champions league so i think they won't try that hard tomorrow

Cardiff relegated so Brighton can hit the beach if they want to at Woolwich tomorrow. It really has been a very disappointing season for us camouflaged by the run in Europe. I can only think us playing really well in about two league games - Chelsea at home (well Wembley) and away at Everton just before Christmas. Possibly second half at Old Trafford as well. 13 losses is just shocking. Chavs, Woolwich and Man U have lost 8, 10 and 9. In a Top 6 head to head table, we're joint bottom with Man U with just 7 points from 30. Chavs and Woolwich both picked up 12 points from 30. Thank God for that anomaly of being draw averse all season.

I do feel though, despite all that we'll fall over the line next week with whatever result we need but its real seat of the pants stuff. I'd nearly rather if we're going in next week needing a win. No ambiguity then about approach or mindset. If we just need a draw or could even sneak through with a loss with results elsewhere, we're far more likely to go out with the wrong mindset and find a way to fuck it up.
