Competition The race for top four.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Woolwich and Chelsea are both in the Europa League semi-finals and are among the favourites to lift the trophy in Baku. If either of them win the tournament, they will qualify for next season's Champions League group stages.

If the winners finish outside the top four in the Premier League, it will mean five English teams will be in the Champions League.

However if they do finish in the top four, then England will not get an extra spot. The team who finish third in the fifth-ranked league - France - will go into the Champions League group stages instead of the qualifiers.

There is no Champions League spot for the beaten finalists.

Wrong because if it's Chelsea...

How valuable that last corner being defended properly yesterday would have been. As stupid as the potential goal difference

If they play each other in the final another reason to want a Chelsea win is that it would probably also secure us in Pot 2 for the CL next season, if we don't get Pot 1 by winning it this season.

We shouldn’t underestimate how important it will be for the gooners missing out on top 4 again , long as we don’t lose a 8 goal lead then it’s all but In the bag! Oh what a night!!!

Hindsight and all of that pal. If you had been offered 3rd place with 2 games to spare and a semi final against Ajax in the Champions League last August would you have snapped that up? Seasons will have peaks and troughs, we should all just focus on a powerful predicament right now of possible glory, and I mean real glory.

What's done is done, we've had a gruelling season consisting of no pre season, no signings, two South Korean international tournaments, two ankle rolls involving our talisman, 3 hammys and a broken hand for Del Boy, a hammy for Vertonghen, Dier turning into sick boy and no place to call home until a month before the season ends.

We sit pretty as it stands, time for another push
Most sensible comment that I have read in months. I am with you on this 100%. The boys did okay, in fact, given everything you mentioned, they did better than okay. I'd take where we are most seasons after the wilderness that was the 90s and 00s. COYS!
