It's such a conundrum and s bit of a puzzle tbh....
Eze has been on our radar since his QPR days, and yet for some reason, we've always been reticent to go all out to get him .. maybe now missing the boat on him altogether, which would be a real shame!
Then again, maybe him staying at Palace (big fish, small pond) is what MADE him the player he is now ..
We'd have probably ruined him by now, and he'd be back there with his tail between his legs having 'failed' on the bigger stage... Zaha style.
He's seen Olise go, and thrive at Bayern, and it's so obvious the time to leave is now...
And at 27 I think he IS absolutely in his prime, this is as good as he's gonna get... 2 years from now and we're looking at what if...

Think I’ll wait for a better source. I’ll be surprised if he really wanted to stay. Can definitely see him cruising this season knowing we will definitely have to sell next summer. If he turns up to training day one it would be a good indication.

Doubt we are looking at another CB unless Romero goes. Midfield and left back likely I reckon after a few sales.

Yep, Philips has the most immediate potential of the young CBs IMHO.
I’d keep him around the group this year and give him some of the easier cup games.
Depending on the young players loaned out, I would still like a LCB/LB with genuine pace coming in. We do have a load of CBs but they are almost all doggy types who are aggressive and strong. Would like another cat type incase Mickey goes down again, who can sweep up on the cover.
Hato is a LB / LCB hybrid.

I think one, if not two if Donley, Devine and/or Moore are gonna properly step up and shine for us this season, assuming Frank keeps all three here.
Saw Donley play live for Orient in the Cup against Derby, and he pretty much ran the show ... and scored a pen in the shootout.
Devine seems to have been here an age, but then again, he was only about 12 when he made his scoring debut (Marine away, remember?) oK, maybe 15/16... but still!
He SHOULD be one of the AM Frank wants to have a good look at...hard to believe Moore is probably ahead of both in ability, and yet still only 18...
I think we've learned our lesson from the HG rules biting us last season, and from this season onwards, I expect us to promote more from within, as WELL as sprinkling the 1st team with slightly more EXPENSIVE 'stardust'!!
We do, believe it or not suddenly have a VERY bright future ahead in terms of youth players....
We just gotta supplement that with a few more 'ready made' 1st Teamers until the others mature!

After yesterday saying I wasn't posting until I know the lie of the land as far as my info was concerned, I can say this is one I am sure about. He has 100% been offered to us(I think we all know why), and he is interested in a move to the Prem. This has been ongoing for quite a while as far as communication between all parties is concerned, but I'm not quite sure how keen we are and whether this is just one being kept on the backburner as an option or if it is something more. He's on a lot of money at Juve, and I think there would need to be some compromise for him to come here..
