They're all tidy central midfielders. The first that fans get on the back of (see PEH, Harry Winks even for example). They're not game changers but their job is to keep things ticking over so to speak. They are more highly regarded here than in Britain.
They are rarely the players that kids want on the back of their shirts. Fans regularly ask "But what do they do?"
The best I have seen are Ossie, Guardiola, Redondo and Xabi. Not seen in person - Xabi Alonso and Rodri. There are clearly others but I'm 3/4 of a rather fine bottle of Somontano (just €5 from Aldi - look for the region, their wines are FINE) to the good.

The pure 6 obsession is silly in my book. Everyone wants an elite 6. They are very rare. There are not many guys who can play as a solo 6 with everyone else bombing forward. Even the best ones of the most recent generation (Rodri, Busquets, and Casemiro) have had excellent midfield companions who don’t give the ball away cheaply as well as generous referees who don’t give them nearly the yellow cards they deserve for tactical fouls. That’s why the 4-2-3-1 became more popular because it gives you two players who can both be more all rounders or can complement each other. It’s less of a need for me since we won’t be playing suicidal Ange ball.

Completely agree, it's a bit of a nonsense because not only do very few teams actually utilise a specialist '6' in the modern game, but the ones that have stand out players in those roles such as the trio you've mentioned are actually exceptional players predominantly because of their ball playing ability, alongside a good reading of the game defensively.
Its funny because one of the most impactful defensive players in midfield of the last generation would be Kante who wouldn't even be called a 6 by most people, yet he would do the work of 3 players in terms of defensive contributions.
We badly need to break the cycle of players being able to keep getting back into our starting lineup despite bad form, getting comfortable with those low standards, and then never wanting to leave.
