Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not gonna lie pulled that out my arse somewhat but it's been at or around £200m gross the last 3 seasons and around £130-150m net, Ange got £250m gross of investment in his first season. If we were to sustain that spending pattern over the course of 3-5 seasons and have more hits than misses we might well end up building a team capable of something, considering other clubs around us are having to take "fallow years" between spending periods.

Going back 40 years 🤣
Modern football seems more and more about physicality
You have to be elite if you are not a strong athlete nowadays, which is a sad state football has got it's self into imo

Not just physicality, but athleticism/cardio too.

Tactically; modern football demands these things.

The easiest way to get MGW is for him to tell the club that he wants to leave, that the release clause has been met and he agrees to the transfer. If they still refuse then they are in breach of contract. Simples

That will happen, or probably already has happened.

Forrest want their replacement in first before being held to random.

And I'm sure MGW is just going through the motions until that replacement is in, then we'll see it all concluded.

I'd properly counter but I can't be arsed for what is essentially a b-tec Shadydan Shadydan

You are shady without the charisma and charm

:frankthumbs:
Im not sure I’d associate either of those adjectives with Shadydan Shadydan but we can put that down to cultural differences ;)

In my experience, internet heroes are not the most … uh… rounded people in real life. Xx

I am as guilty as anyone before a new season begins, believing this season will be the season we see our beloved THFC show a real and genuine attempt to sit and dine at the top table and to look like we belong there.
And with what I'm hearing regarding outside investment coming in, having Thomas Frank at the helm and Levy looking and sounding like he is ready to splash that cash on proven quality, this time I am convinced of it!

COYS!!

Side note: I'd be happy to see, Bissouma, Benny, Richarlison, Maddison and the legend that is Heung-Min Son leave in this window. Depending on where/if Sonny goes, I reckon you are looking at over £100m, plus over 20m a season in wages that could be redirected towards 2 first team purchases.

Am a bit concerned we don’t have enough goals in the team after yesterday. Madders needs to be pulling 15 goals to make up the slack tbh. We desperately need midfield help. All up to you, fat Greek cunt.

We had no problems scoring goals with these players under Ange.

Frank has already said he sees no issues about scoring goals with what we currently have.

Make of that what you will

Hearing as much as £500m over 20 years. That effectively takes care of most of the stadium debt re payments.

Meaning more cash for transfers and wages.

Just thrown my Human Rights book straight out the window....get in ...:)

He stepped out yesterday in their smart new kit, which carries something of a resemblance to the pin-striped offering Forest wore in 1992-93, a season that began with them selling one of their best players — Teddy Sheringham — to Tottenham and ended, ultimately, in relegation from the top flight.

I don't think its to unrealistic to think our 4 front players (Solanke, Johnson, Tel, Oderbert) couldn't notch up somewhere near 40 goals between them, then Kudus, MGW?, Kulu and a few defenders from set plays to add another 20-25.
