As of the 2025–26 season, the top 5 highest-paid players at Chelsea FC are:

- Reece James – £250,000 per week

- Christopher Nkunku – £195,000 per week
It's bizarre the way some people on here go out of their way to suck off the Woolwich.
In the last twenty years they've won precisely four major trophys, just two more than us, and most Spurs fans would agree our trophy count over that period is actually quite poor.
They've not done much better in the league than us either. In fact we've finished above them almost a third of the time in the last two decades, despite their ridiculous "St. Totteringham day" bollocks.
Even when we've finished below them it's been usually just a place or two. In fact Woolwich's average points total over the last 20 premier league seasons is around 72, whereas ours is around 66, so not that big a difference really.
That's reflected in our respective average league positions too, with them lot averaging slightly below 4th in the league, and us just below 5th.
Anyone claiming that they're "not a rival to Spurs" or that they're "miles ahead of us", needs to give their head a wobble.
I stand corrected. Looks like his current wage is 250k a week. Not sure why I was always convinced it was above 300k.
And those figures are significantly weighted by the first five years of the past 20. If you look at the last 10 and it looks a lot better for us.
Liverpool is one thing, but leave those Woolwich thoughts in your head.
For me its more fear than anything else. I really don't want the rats to ever win anything so when I see how close they keep getting and then they follow it up with more heavy investment then it does scare me. Especially when the gap between us and them has expanded greatly the last few seasons and the gap is now probably as big as its been since they last won the title. Its all fear for me. I'll never bend over for them or give them any credit if and when they win things. But I hate watching it all unfold infront of my eyes. I can't just sit back and pretend I can't see whats happening! We continue to fall further and further behind and they are like a slot machine waiting to go off.
Let's see how well this will play out in a couple of years. I'll bookmark this post.
That’s a different point, I agree. But I’m taking every excuse to wallow in their failures and love that we still squashed the “success” of their project with one major trophy
They are dramatically reducing their wage bill but still offering way more than we do…

Yup. It's frightening to think they might really break through this time.
Cold comfort, but at least it would be playing their charmless, farcically cynical football. Woolwich being dull and unromantically successful is football heritage in some ways.
The fact this got seven agrees is unacceptable on a spurs forum.
They’ve gone longer than any big six club without a trophy.
They’ve done EXACTLY what you criticised us for doing when we were successful under Poch and after - they’ve been happy to finish top four without spending what’s necessary to get over the line. Everyone knows they’ve been missing a 9 and a 6 for years now.
So not only are you singing the praises of our biggest rivals despite the fact they don’t win anything… but you’re a hypocrite too.
