Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Isn't rocket science. Run through the last few pages and see what clubs people are simping over because of their transfers.

So you made a list of clubs that people wish our clubs acted like in the transfer market, then told them all to go and support those clubs?

Why would you do that?

I don’t really get the logic. They are saying they want Spurs to be as aggressive in the transfer market, not actually be those clubs

But like, the whole point of the Saudi project was to GET them rated like that.

Well it's clearly not working :porrohands:

Gonna take a few more seasons and more consistency to be respected and rated, and of course more money

Which is why I kinda cringe when people say Newcastle have overtaken us, they need to put a lot more work in this league and in Europe to overtake us.

There's really no reason why we shouldn't go for him.

Bigger Club. We have the money. We have the most PSR wriggle room on the planet. We have the location. We have Champions League football. We have London.

Unfortunately, we also have ENIC.

And for that reason alone the very idea seems preposterous

The answer, as I'm sure you know John, is that we don't.

Not that you've shown a lot of understanding of finances so far, but liverpool had an offer turned down for £120m already. I have no idea why you would even choose to suggest we have that kind of money floating around

I agree. ha ha!!! What a load of nonsense. Of course he wouldn't pocket the rest
How preposterous 😂 😂

He'd use it to help fund his latest Hotel / Residential tower block initiative

Cos I don't wanna be those clubs. Every one of those clubs mentioned have a horrible underbelly - yet you get loads on here, every transfer window, daydreaming that we were like them.

It's the behaviour of children.

Fact is we don't know how this window has gone til it's well past closed.

It's social media/influencer performative culture gone mad.

'Waaaaaaaaah United have signed a player! Waaaaaahhhh Liverpool have signed a player! Look how wonderful they are! Why can't we be like them?'

Get a grip.

Didn’t tell you anything either but you still assume that he’s wrong and this mythical deal is still on, even if there’s nothing solid to suggest it ever was
Absent any concrete news one way or the other I'm not assuming anything. I just pointed out that jumping to conclusions on this type of evidence is childish.

Let's understand first what one is posting before responding, yeah?

Well that's what I mean, when the Saudi takeover happened everyone assumed it would be Man City on steroids, because that's what the Saudi wealth is relative to Abu Dhabi.

But while they've done quite well making a respectable, hard-working outfit out of them, both on and off the pitch there just isn't really any "we are going to be the best club in the world" energy to the project. THAT'S why Isak wants out, surely.

And it totally contrasts with City who fucked a lot of stuff up in their early years but had globe-bestriding ambition on and off the pitch from literally day 1.

Why do you think they want to be those clubs?

They are just saying theyd love to see our owners act as aggressive in the transfer market,

Those are 2 very different things

I think he would be a good addition and a very good addition in the short term, I'm just looking at the drawbacks with him, the same way Woolwich had the issue with Rice as their 6, we'd be facing more or less a similar issue with him in that position.

It's a minute detail but it's an important detail because it often gets overlooked.

Yet the latest reason I'd prefer 352 this season..... Optimum use of him would be to provide an anchor that allows two ballers to play either side of him and prioritise their attacking duties.

If we play 433 we'll face the season 1 'Rice problem'.
If we play 4231 we'll face the season 2 'Rice problem' that echos Southgate-Ball.
