Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Don't see the point of moving Son to be honest, unless he has explicitly asked for it.

We're not getting anything substantial in return for a 33 year old who has 1 year left on his deal. Might as well let him have a farewell tour of a season
A farewell tour? We are supposedly an elite football club not a charity.

It's not about getting a return for Son but rather that he will be detrimental to our season if he stays.

Would rather let Tel and Odobert get a run out than watch Son bumbling around getting shut down by every fullback for another season (and I'm no big fan of those two).

Farewell tour of a season???? As if we aren't a joke as it is......what club gives their players a farewell tour

No chance. He has been here 10 years, fantastic servant, great guy, some amazing memorable moments and goals, but Bilbao was the perfect ending to Sonny's Spurs story and now it's time t part ways.

Will be sad to see him go. Almost as sad as seeing us not adequately replace him.

Once Son returns to London, talks will take place with Thomas Frank over his role and minutes this season. Spurs are content to keep Son and let him leave on a free transfer, but won't stand in his way should the 33-year-old decide he wants a fresh challenge now.

The substance of the news sounds like Sonny is convinced by the LAFC opportunity and it's just really a question of whether he has a role this season under Frank that would satisfy him.

My mate plays for Bracknell Town, who are playing Reading Wednesday in a friendly. He will probably be up against the young RB that completely shut down Son last week, I expect he will get more out of him than Son did (he plays 9 as well as LW)

So the video is saying we are talking to Rodrigo and telling him it’s a project with lots of money and a new owner coming in. Do we just bullshit our targets.

Really short conflab that one

Levy: we’ve got loads of money in our project

Rodrygo: really? So 250k pw shouldn’t be a problem?

Levy: you’re through to Daniel Levy’s voicemail, please leave a message after the tone and his baldness will get back to you soon.

Rodrygo: Mr Levy? U still there?

I’d rather see him go out like a boss as he did in Bilbao and the subsequent celebrations than the powers continue to diminish and he leaves without anyone noticing. At the moment it’s not gonna get better than a final competitive game winning a European final, final game at WHL parading a trophy, final ever game in South Korea to say goodbye.

Despite losing a step Son is probably still lightning fast by MLS standards though.

Last season he was still wreaking havoc on Hoffenheims and Elfsborgs of the world, despite having a -much- more difficult time against better opposition.

He should be able to. All I read on here last season was about how high in the league we’d be with a “proper manager” and not a “fat fraud” in charge. We should all be expecting big things, without any new players.

Don’t subscribe to that myself, as I’m pretty sure our squad is, on the whole, not that talented and damn fucking lazy.
Nah man, I'm with harry7 ...Ange will be Man City's manager within 2 years and our current squad is only 2 or 3 good players short of winning the tentuple.
