Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sad to have to talk about them lot down the road again, but judging by videos and social media their squad is absolutely buzzzing at the signing of Gyokeres. Given them all a real lift, which I’m sure will last going into the season.

Compare and contrast to us. After the high of Bilbao the players are not stupid. Like the fans, they’ll know we’re being left short again gojng into the grind of the PL and CL. Words cannot express how much I loathe the owners of this club.
That Europa win bought Levy another 5 years of under funding, lack of footballing strategy and gimpiness in general

I definitely think we’re going to buy a United player, my money is on Garnacho, but could be Mainoo or Sancho

It won't be Sancho and f it is, then we are in the doldrums. Busted flush.

Garnacho would be my preference of that trio, but Mainoo and renewed confidence night also be good.

One thing for sure, none of those 3 is getting a top top club, and they could do much worse than us. I don't include Sancho who is the English Felix.

I've just been looking at the Premier league money list.......
We generate more revenue than chelsea, and only a fraction less than Woolwich and Liverpool...whilst our wages are also considerably lower than all 3 of those clubs....
So why don't we act like those clubs do , or spend like they do ???
Levy !!! He is the only reason we don't....disgusting....enic and levy out
I get this, I really do, but we're a loss-making business (after tax) and owe some £300m in transfer fees. I'm not sure we have as much financial wriggle room as the headlines suggest.

Stop playing to the gallery!

You have no idea what’s going on behind closed doors anymore than the journos that you proclaim as publishing made up bullshit!

There’s a level of transfer Levy isn’t capable of.

He’s just not able to attract the best talent anymore, the game has surpassed his model.

But you honestly think we couldn’t have done more business by now if he wanted to get it done?

I have absolutely no doubt that the players we buy will be opportunistic buys and not related to any strategy whatsoever. We are just rifling through the "reduced to clear' bins at Aldi.

Not sure I quite agree.

We have hopefully identified the positions that need strengthening. If that's the case, and if clubs are overpricing their players or if players are holding on to consider their options, then we also must wait, to a degree.

As long as we then get the players of quality who fit the areas identified it''s arguably opportunism allied to a strategy...... I think.

I know it's not a particularly popular opinion here, but I think Garnacho is the sort of rough diamond Frank could potential make a gem out of.

Maybe could have got him if we had gone in stronger right off the bat.

It's like when you go to the bar and are hitting on a 9 all night, and then she bounces, and then you try and scoop her 7 friend who you've been ignoring all night instead- usually by that point she isn't having it, shes turned off by the lack of respect and interest.

Bad analogy.
At least youngish ladies are way likelier to come home with you if you've ignored and disrespected them most of the evening.
If you put in an effort these days, you are called "simp" and/or "desperate" or "trying to hard" :D .

I like Garnacho.

To me he is a bit like a young Son, but maybe with more arrogance than is justified at present.

Whichever club gets him and if they can squeeze that potential, I think he could be top drawer.

Whether Frank or us is the right fit I don't know, because to me he is the kind of player who thinks he should play all the time, regardless. It can be problematic but I would love to see is take the punt. P, not C as some might feel.

Why is Moore going on loan? Why do we send all our promising players out yet keep the young players we have paid for who have shown nothing. I’d rather keep Moore bin the likes of Richi tel Wilson, Johnson and get eze , Simmons etc type players in. Moore will learn more from better quality players than those duds.
That's always the conundrum: get playing time in a lesser league or spend more time with the first team, but get limited time on the pitch? Given he spent the last two seasons around the first team learning from better quality players, I'd say he now needs game time to develop further and do so outside the comfortable confines of his parent club.

I think we’ve made the mistake of hanging on thinking there’s a chance MGW could still be done and it’s seriously hampered our incomings.

Then we are amateurs and everyone involved in our transfers should step down.

I don’t believe that we only identified MGW and it was him or nobody tbh. I think the Forest owner referred to an attempt to take MGW but I doubt that is the only player we’ve been looking at.

Much more likely we are waiting for the price to come down on players that other clubs have struggled to get out the door
