Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A little bit before my time, though my old man went to every single game, home and away, that season, and raised me on the stories of those greats. I'm sure I've said it before, I was a Spurs fan before I really knew what Football was all about.

I can still remember him telling me the story of when Mackay came back from his second broken leg and threw himself into a tackle. The old man said you could hear a pin drop in the stadium when he did, then see the roof lift after he got up unhurt.

We were reminiscing on those stories just a couple of weeks ago.
Yeh , my dear old dad took me as a young seven year old kid to watch his beloved Spurs play Sheff Weds in the double winning season .

Been absolutely hooked ever since ! As have my kids and grandkids

You might well be right and maybe that's the correct strategy as we do need to give these guys a clear passage. I just wonder if letting Moore go on loan might open the door to us trying to get someone like Grealish in on loan.

I feel like we are very short if we are relying on Tel and Odobert to play there all season
We're shorter at the 10, though Grealish also fits there.

I dunno, I just feel like our lavish London facilities and questionable bloodthirst for absolute competitive excellence makes us a bad bet for the Grealish-type "is this guy still serious about his football?" type reclamation project.

Gareth Bale's proper Spurs, that one was a bit different.

They were but he was their second best player last year,

Lefty right winger like Kudus though… we won’t be chasing him

He wasn''t imo. It was Pedri by far.

He was very very very productive and the completely G/A obsessed people will say he was and point towards that but if you watched their games it was Yamal who was the gold and Pedri who just ran things. Those two are the special, world class players and Raphinha is just a very very good player who is benefitting from genuinely incredible talents creating space and time for him to do what he's great at.

I know mate, I was just pointing out that Barca looking to offload players isn't necessarily a Red flag.

I think Firmine Lopez counts as an academy player for them, as he's been at Barca since 2016, so he'd be pure profit for them if they sell him.

They still desperately need money, despite recent successes, I believe, so selling him on, when his stock is reasonably high, should net them a decent wedge.

Every year we hear Barca need to offload a big name and they never do. La Liga always bends the rules for them.

Who's to say he won't be as good.

I remember Son's first season.

I thought then, that's another 22mil down the shitter.

How wrong i was.
Son always had the searing pace to rely on. At the moment, Tel doesn’t have an outstanding physical trait to rely on. He’s got a really good ball striking on either foot off a quick release, he’s got a bit of of determination and dawg in him, We’ll see, but at some point we have to see who him and Odobert are.

Not sure what Dibling offers us. He was struggling to start for Southampton last year so I imagine he's not ready yet..and is he definitely a better prospect than Tel, Odobert and Moore? I'm not certain he is. And we really need to stop buying potential. We just lost a club legend. Let's bring in someone who's ready to start now
Mitoma from Brighton would be a good veteran option until one of the young players was ready.

Fitting everyone in is a nightmare lol! v2.0

Tel/Odobert - Solanke/Muani-esque - Johnson/Kudus
Bergvall/Sarr - Kulusevski/Maddison - Palhinha/Bentancur

Davies, Takai, Dragusin and Kulusevski (latter 3 injured) miss out on group stages

Bissouma, Gil, Solomon and Richarlison sold for £270m, give or take

Just to check, in case I’m reading it wrong, is this post suggesting that Bissouma, Gil, Solomon and Richarlison would sell for a combined £270 million?
