Think levy's sent Shady on a 2 week course 'How to defend the indefensible'
They were not elite or world class in 2014.
Kane scored 34 goals in 14/15 seasonThey were not elite or world class in 2014.
They would become elite / world class after a few years. It could be in hindsight you say the same about Odobert or Tel.
They really earned their corn this weekAnother productive week in the window. Only loans out, some monitoring. Great job, recruitment team.
Actually it’s a separate loans manager, so they’ve done jack shit as usual.

The option would then become an obligation if certain conditions are met. This may include Bryan Gil signing a contract extension with Spurs first.

I wonder who has had the worst transfer window
I feel really depressed about the coming season. We are definitely nearer to relegation than champions league at the end of the season. I know we say this every year but if ever we needed to buy big its now - and not just 1 more player.
I want to run this past you - Ange actually got us to punch above our weight! Now we have the ex - Brentford manager expect decline.
What on earth is he telling us???

Any team that finishes 17th and doesn't take the threat of relegation the following season seriously in all fairness deserves to be in a relegation fight the following year.
Maybe add Villa, Bournemouth as well?
Ben Davies
Postecoglou was poor mate. Let's be very clear on that. Out of his depth. The Europa victory was a freaky combination of a few things in my opinion.
We didn't need to spend big this summer, but we needed to plug some obvious weaknesses, and that was before the Maddison injury. Son was deteriorating fast, but what a servant.
Varied views abound at present. With no change to the squad and a poor start, I think we will struggle. We might be harder to beat but I can't see where we get goals, Johnson apart, and that should flash red lights.
Joking aside, that is where we're at depth wise in the CL. We can only register 21 players + Austin and you name a 23 man squad for matchdays so there will be 1 spot for a List B academy player and we've loaned out all the players closest to being ready for men's football. 16 year-olds like Williams-Barnett, Byfield is where we're at now as a CL option on the bench.wonder if Williams Barnett will end up in the seniors. Might end up our only fit 10.
Levy's plan is clearly to finish say 8th to tell us "hey we've progressed big time, another season or two and we'll be at the top."Feels like this season is hanging on Frank (and his coaching team's) ability to coach improvements out of our current players which might mean we improve over the season Vs Ange's gung-ho tactics which were found out and we got worse, especially when compounded by injuries.
I think that the negative vibes set up by the transfer window and Maddison's injury means that there will be no patience for a slow start among the fanbase. Levy needs to be buying some good will as well as quality players in the remainder of this transfer window to give Frank a chance to improve what we have as a team
