If they are posturing despite needing this move desperately themselves, just get Paqueta for half the price. It would arguably be a better value signing, despite Eze being the better player in a vacuum.
And while at it use the leftover money to get Savinho deal over the line while possibly bringing in a LCB/LB hybrid as well. We'd be better off overall.

Bit of brinkmanship by parish imo. Eze starts imo means pay up or eze stays. Tbh you cant blame a chairman for that.

I totally agree with you this all boils down to Levy, the deal should have been done and dusted no wonder fans despise him.
none of them got their move until they started making noise. again, just speculating but if eze did what savinho is doing he'd likely be our player this morning.
the bigger question none of us really know is, would palace prefer to keep him and let him go on a free? with all the money that comes in now i don't think the answer is as obvious as it used to be and i don't think that last year leverage is as strong these days either.
