Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I take it all the people here whining have never bought, or sold, a house before?

There could be 5 clubs in a chain here.
Palace need our money to fund their replacement, the replacements club might now be looking for their replacement and so on.
All of the clubs are probably eager to keep the finances quiet as they negotiate so each one doesn't push the price up.

There's nothing Spursy about this transfer.
Newcastle are yet to get Wissa but probably will.
Liverpool are yet to get Isaak but probably will.
City probably want another 2 but want to sell first.
Even them up the road in blue and red still have business to do.

And that's just the top end clubs. Look at the state of West Ham, Fulham etc who have hardly added anyone yet.

Some managers also want to see what they have before running out and buying new stuff.
Ange got us kicked out of the League Cup in Season 1 because he wanted to hold on to some players to try them first.

United spent £70-odd million on Hojland and basically told him to find a new club.

It’s ruthless but we need to do more of that.

Bryan Gil is still here, just a year left on his deal having cost us £20m+ and Erik Lamela. It’s not smart business sense. We have too many like this here now, let alone over the last few years.

On what planet does it make sense to buy loads of £20m to £30m players instead of going for the £60m one? It’s the same money and wages. 😅
Because to the little one it is all about investment to him

Better to buy three 20-30m players than one for70m...one of them might just turn in a decent profit for him

Spread the risk...diversify your portfolio....don put all your money in a single stock

so what window rating are we thinking if it's Eze and no one else?

Would be three really decent signings in Kudus , Eze and Palhina
Would be a typical window to keep the average Spurs fan reasonably satisfied (and to be fair Kudus and Eze are very good and exciting footballers and certainly a massive upgrade), but nothing that is gonna worry the elite teams in this league.

So probably looking at a 7.25/10. Savinho could elevate it to a 8/10.

Really? I'd say it would be much more like a 7.38/10.

But as always would be leaving us short in key areas
Yeah hard to call it a failure at all if we do get Eze (though we need to keep in mind that Maddison getting injured forced our hand). 3 first team signings all in positions of need, though obviously we still would be lacking in depth just about everywhere. I really think we need another quality signing on top of it, but I’d at least call it a “good” window.
