By all accounts he was one of the first names on the exit list going into the summer, he's made of glass and has been unable to play regularly for 3 years. Levy was always going to try and move him on right up until the deadline, this is a great time to sell him.
I'd argue against Madueke and Jackson being flops, Madueke has simply been upgraded past since signed 2 summers ago and Jackson with 34 G+A in 65 PL games is a pretty serviceable PL-level striker if not top 4 level, not as clinical as you would like but he does very well getting into good scoring positions and could absolutely explode in his prime given the necessary playing time so I can see why someone would pay £50m for him.
This is why I have been so sceptical about the whole Eze transfer. I don't just blindly trust so called "ITKs". 99.9% of them just copy what someone else has said. If this new story is true, we have no idea if it is, then all the ITK stuff over the past week has been nonsense. If we are offering a player now, it can't have been that close and certainly not "verbally agreed".
But again read the wording, it is also nonsense; "considering offering" and "exploring". We either have offered Richi or we haven't. There is no way anybody could know about us considering unless the leak is from the higher ups.
PS. I can accept there is the possibility that all the ITKs have been correct but only in the scenario that Levy has made a last minute ploy to save some cash having already agreed a fee.

The numbers you are saying for Jackson don’t justify tripling the money they paid for him. They upgraded him with Delap and Joao Pedo. Not exactly world beaters… if they decided those two are better than Jackson, he flopped
