Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I wouldn’t hold my breath on it. It has the following perfect ingredients for a Levy clusterfuck:
- A rich, ambitious, reluctant seller.
- Complicated sell ons and buybacks.
- A player dying to get back to Real somehow.
- That little cockweasel Fabregas.

I suppose the one thing in our favour is they already named a price for him and if Como don’t sell him this summer, Madrid can take him back next year for about 10 million and Como get nothing. So it’s really in their favour to sell him this summer to us and just make as much money as they can. Reinvest that money into other areas of their team.

Their owner might be rich but I’m sure he wouldn’t want to lose £35 million.

Obviously the difficulty also is Madrid but they are stacked in that position.

As ever the biggest obstacle though is Levy and his short arms and deep pockets

I’m definitely not holding my breath mate but they will be desperate to prove they aren’t as hopeless as they look right now. If they overpay, they’ll get him. Como’s owners are stupid rich but stupidly rich people got by rich by selling things for large sums. Como will know they need to sell players or they will struggle to sign talent in future

Nobody knows what is going to happen. It's a shower of sh!t predicament, much of which is our fault as a club, who aeem incapable of finding a clear path.

I will hope against hope but nothing more than that.

IWe are always in the middle. Neither this nor that.

Just thought about the downside of buying Paz, from a Madrid aspect.

They get half of any Nico Paz fee paid, in their clause with Como. So £60m means £30m to Madrid, provided they don’t exercise their buyback clause.

But think about the Savinho deal - that is rumored to be dependent on a Rodrygo sale from City to Madrid, right? If we suddenly hand Madrid £30m for Paz, that puts them in a situation where they don’t have to sell Rodrygo as much and can hold out for more… which puts the Savinho move at risk.

I’m seeing an awkward game of musical chairs playing out here and it’s not likely to work in our favour.

Look man, I just want us to be able to sign one good player at this point.

If we get to 1st September without an experienced no 10, we may as well bin off this season as long as we do not get relegated and look forward to 26/27. We will have Kula & Maddison back, the young players in the side and on loan will have improved and be ready for PL. We can look forward to getting rid of some dross and not buy anyone and without the burden of Europe finally get Levy’s dream of winning the PL. 😬
