Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not true when one considers that a lot of pricetags are predictively based on potential.

Gambling 70m is more risky that gambling 25m..... it's silly to pretend otherwise.

Nicholas Pepe, Mudryvk, Ndombele, Anthony, Hoijlund and a loooooong list of others say "hi".
Where did is say there was no risk?

So no point in giving me examples of player that never made it, when I never said there wasn't any risk.

I am fully away that every signing comes with an element of risk. And yes, the more you pay the less like the risk is, especially when they have already had a season in the PL and 3 goals, and 11 assists in all comps.

We are not so great at it, as Levy main experience is in the bargain bucket.

From Trix SC;
We want 2 in, and we have a finite amount of money at our disposal. Hugely over paying on one to "get it done" means massively compromising on the other, to the point it isn't worth doing it. We need to be patient with this because it's key to the second player we definitely need.

Not sure why so many on here are so opinionated on players they know fuck all about

BEK looks like a very good player in the games I’ve seen him playing

No granted that’s only a few but who here can honestly say they watch players so much that they can actually be sure they know what a player is really about? And I mean that with all due respect

For what I have seen of BEK i would be happy to see him come to Spurs

I have seen less of Savinho and won’t make judgement on him

A player like BEK just may be exactly what we need and surrounding him with better players and Frank’s coaching may be all he needs to absolutely shine so why are we so negative?

He’s been there 6 years. It’s not that much that they’ve spent. Woolwich have spent €1.24 bn since the start of the 19/20 season and we have spend €1.14. That’s less than £100m difference spread over 6 years. And if we make another big splash this summer then the different is negligible.

Have we bought some shit? Yes

But Woolwich have bought shit like Nicolas Pepe and Fabio Vieira. Havertz and Gabriel Jesus is over 100m in talent that has not really shown it on the pitch.

STOP BEING CUCKS FOR Woolwich
Arguably the difference hasn't been the recruitment, it's the academy. This year it looks like they will have 4 players from their academy that will significantly contribute this season. We have zero. Imagine how much better off our squad would be to say the same

I heard someone else say he was in the Serie A team of 24/25 but I couldn’t actually find it anywhere. Not an official one anyway.

You have a link?

Either way he was definitely one of, if not the best AM in Serie A last year.
What the kid accomplished at his age, for a side like Como that ain't one of the big dogs, in a league that's still very defense-oriented...that takes some serious talent and shows elite-level emotional intelligence.

The PL is a universe or two above Serie A, zero doubt about that...but if he came here and applied the same approach as he done in Italy, well that's a recipe for success.

If he could just elbow smash that greasy thundercunt Fabregas on the way here, he'd be off to a flying start in N17.

BEK is an interesting young player, if we sign him and Savinho it would probably be just about acceptable.

I don’t see that many players that are gettable at this stage and within Levy’s price range. If we get Savinho that would be a miracle in itself, Levy has never signed anyone from a bigger club unless they wanted rid first.

If he came and became a player that you and me agree on, that might be his biggest career achievement to date 😆

Just kidding but I agree. Doing what he’s done at 19/20 in that league is impressive. Very impressive and he’s got the physical tools to step up to the PL. one of the best u23 dribblers in Europe last year and ball carrying probably isn’t his biggest strength.

The Athletic is reliable, though I'm surprised either he or Woolwich would want this being out there.

I said on Wednesday evening that I was getting Diaz vibes from this and now I feel vindicated. I do not want to defend Levy, but I genuinely think there are mitigating circumstances with both the MGW and Eze transfers that go beyond what would usually be expected.

As for Eze - if he was keen on coming here then I think most/all of us would have put his gooner nature to one side. However, the way this has panned out I cannot wait for him to get dog's abuse from our fans and hope Pahinha does something to give him a nice holiday mid-season.

Being zen, it might be for the best. He was going to be a big big outlay in terms of fee and wages for a player that would ultimately have no resale value (assuming he spent 4 or more years here). I also don't think he was the perfect fit for us despite being a very good player.

Thomas Frank is very very considered/polite in interviews and press conferences but his mentioning of not wanting players that didn't want to come in and play for this club tells you all you need to know about this one.

Could we send Erik Lamela to help negotiate with Fabregas? :lamelaaghh:
"OK, Cesc, let's shake on it. Just put your hand down here... that's right, on the floor..."

Ha ha ha touche you silly cunt!

I'd love him here. "What I can do with a football, he can do with an orange" or whatever the Maradona quote was. PL or not, you need one of them magician type player in your team, guy who sees 3 or 4 moves ahead and can do what others can't. Plus we've got a real Argie history here, he'd feel right at home.

Maybe if our in-house geniuses had sorted out a proper plan end of May/early June...maybe he'd have been on the list, along with a GK/LCB/FB/DM/LW/CF and we'd have done a deal with Como.

But at this stage of the window? No chance. It'll be that Leicester kid for 30ish mil (and cheap wages) and a big club reject defender on loan.

In my opinion this level of attention seeking is a bit of a worry. I hope he gets the attention from his mum in later life he clearly never got growing up .

Watch him play. Hes great.

He was also chosen two months ago as a sensible transfer for us.

The video has been watched 218,000 times so it’s. It like Tottenham fans haven’t known about him all summer.

It's not about whether he could be a good signing or not, it's about us failing to sign our preferred targets, and thus not backing the manager properly.

If El Khannoush was such a good player, why haven't we signed him already? It's because we don't think he's that good, and there are better options out there. We are trying to negotiate a complicated deal for Paz over a straight forward deal with Leicester for BEK. We wanted MGW, Eze and Xavi Simons, failed to get all of them. All have stayed or are moving to our rivals. And we are left taking punts on championship kids which all our rivals deem to be inferior.

It says it all.

It's just not acceptable. Is this what we moved into the new stadium for? to take punts on championship kids when we some how scrape our way into the CL?

Kudus and Palinha is not even the bare minimum, getting BEK as our main number 10 to replace Maddison is laughable.

Watch, we will sign BEK, the fans will realise he's miles off the level we need and the raging from the fans will continue.

AT this stage, signing Savinho and BEK is honestly the bare minimum we should get, and I bet we don't even sign Savinho.

It'll be BEK at most and then a CB like Collins or some other no mark on loan.
