As a fan it seems to me never wanting to settle , always wanting your team to push on , especially if the financial headroom is there is a very logical position . Spend aggressively to try and continually improve season on season should surely be the approach of any financially robust club at least from a fan perspective.

Just once, I would love to see us throw our weight around and show some ambition. Put an offer there for one of these targets, with CL football and the whole gamut. Make the other club capitulate, and while they don't want to sell, they just can't match the complete package. The player is so enticed to come here that they force the issue a little bit.
For a club like ours, offering CL football and plenty of game time in the spotlight for a player in a World Cup season, this just shouldn't be that hard to pitch.
They're trying to go for it though. You know what's sickening? The fact that we have to rely on fucking Liverpool, City or even worse, Chelsea to stop them winning the Title, because this club is unable to do it on its own, because this fucking board is holding us back. I miss the fucking days when we were masters of our own destiny, instead of relying on others to stop that scum.
That's just it isn't it? We have an unexpected CL campaign this season, a trophy under the belt, a manager showing lots of promise and we're stalling. I cannot understand not being frustrated by this.
