You’d think this would be obvious. You can think Simon’s is better (he definitely arguably is just by eye test!) but comparing their numbers in leagues of very different quality playing for much different teams is very stupid.

Definitely arguably?

Posting those radars for different league comparisons, you have to apply you’re own common sense context (which I get isn’t always in big supply in here) but also they are awful in demonstrating similar areas of strength and weakness regardless of the league. It at least lets you see that you’re getting a player who performs well in similar areas and within similar facets of the game?.

Simons radar will probably shrink in the PL, but at least we can see visual, unbiased evidence of strengths and weaknesses in his game etc.

Announce Savinho!!!

So so good to get him to the club, he will add SO much to our team. Will also improve other around him.
He is going to unlock so much potential in this team.

We are getting into the territory now of very fine margins. This will be a big boost to getting that 5th spot (maybe even 3rd or 4th)

If we can somehow add 1 more of similar quality then we are right in the mix.........for everything.

Enough of the "fair play Levy" bullshit, humiliating the club on multiple occasions then finally getting someone through the door is not cause for praise.
I've been on both sides of the fence regarding Levy, but he has undeniably taken the club forward. Just infuriatingly slowly and steadily. If we didn't get Simons, we'd all be livid, but he did (and maybe more). I'm currently happy with the outcome.

So...full squad, fully fit and firing is looking tastier than Diletta Leotta. All options (including emergency deployment and multiple position covers. Good old versatile Archie.)

GK - Vicario, Kinsky, Austin

RB - Porro, Spence, Gray
CB - Romero, Van de Ven, Danso, Davies, Takai, Gray
LB - Spence, Udogie, Van de Ven

DM - Pahlinha, Gray, Bentacur
CM - Sarr, Bentancur, Bergvall, Kulusevski, Gray,
CAM - Simons, Maddison, Kulusevski, Kudus
RW - Kudus, Kulusevski, Odobert
LW - Johnson, Simons, Odobert, Tel, Richarlison
ST - Richarlison, Solanke, Tel, Johnson

The combinations this throws up is very exciting and we really should compete on all fronts.

I think Johnson might be the sacrificial lamb as me move to more fluid 4-3-3 formation to fit our best players in with Simons playing a free hybrid LAM/CAM role. But counter-intuitively, I think he could be a huge beneficiary of a 4-2-3-1 with his creative responsibilities being taken by Simons at CAM and he can concentrate on what he does best without constant critique of lesser involvement in general play.

Finish the dinner served by Kudus and Simons.

Next summer we should be looking, if possible, to upgrade ST, LW and possibly GK (Ederson?).
