Maybe that’s why I feel a bit underwhelmed.I don’t really watch much Italian football tbh,the last time I saw him play was when he had his worldie performance in the Europa final against leverkeusen.He was ok at Leicester but not much more than that,happy to be proven wrong if he came though.👍

Pep notoriously doesn't want player that dont want to be there.

City's hierarchy (one person in particular) doesn't want to sell.

Theres seems a game of chicken happening here.....

If we are sniffing around and prepared to pay but they turn it down and pep doesn't use him much this season then by January there not getting anywhere near that amount and the summer, even less.

So a 70m offer now could be less than 50m in January and potentially less in the summer.

I think there's probably a standoff happening between pep and the hierarchy with regards to savinho. This would tally up with pep not confirming the player would stay in his last press conference.

I think fans are comparing him to Savinho and under rating him because of this.

Savinho does have star quality and maybe people have made their minds up about him and have alresdy imagined him in Spurs shirt, age is in his side as well compared to Lookman

I think Savinho's ceiling his higher btw but I don't think we get his peak years at this club.
 
We needed a couple of players regardless of today's loss. No change.

Hopefully we can bring a couple in.

It won't be Savinho, but not bringing in another goal threat would be dangerous.

The ball carrier we should have got is Grealish, but I get why we didn't go there,but we need someone.

And a defender.

I don't trust Langes player judgement particularly and I certainly do not trust Postecoglou, I said quite early I don't think he knows what an elite EPL footballer looks like. Tel, Odobert, Johnson. If your stated aim is to win the league and Champions league they aren't fit for purpose . Its still possible that Tek and Odobert could make it there but that window is closing. Basically they should be at Dortmund making mistakes .

I’ve probably done that exact thing,imagined savinho wearing our shirt holding onto the feint hope city will accept our offer.I just looked up lookmans age he’s 28 in October.

I’m not even sure what type of price Atalanta would want for lookman.

It's funny because at the beginning of the Summer people were asking for this kind of experience in Lookman because he goes straight into the first team and has CL experience as well, the kind of player who we have been crying out for to replace Son, don't really car about his age, you'd still get 3-4 very good years out of him.
 
I think villa are advancing on the signing of paqueta. They have quite a few bodies in that central area. I wonder if they will sacrifice rogers?

Edit...The fee involved is rumoured to be around 45m!
 
Just play Bergvall, he’ll clear Paqueta within a season if given opportunity. Paqueta isn’t really the creative type we need anyway.
