Well, yeah, I mean, 90% of our players deserve a fresh start under him - especially if you believe Ange was the worst manager we ever had -

Judging the player's performances in that context doesnt seem very fair.
thats right lets get werner back:)

I dont get Man U going for Mbuemo. They've got a terrible goalie, defence and central midfield. Why arent they sorting those out. Sure they need a number 9 too. But Mbuemo seems unnecessary for them.

I think you have to for most of the arrivals under Ange, even a player like Johnson who is fairly reviled on here I can see a player there who is very useful over the course of a season if employed correctly, likewise Solanke has the work rate and enough finishing ability to thrive in a Frank system similar to how Toney did for them IMO. Think it's exciting to see what he has planned for Bergvall and Gray having wanted both at Brentford. I think Dragusin as well if played to his strengths could be a very useful squad player.

Think we've seen enough of Bissouma to know he's not good enough at 6, Bentancur would be good as depth IMO but needs upgrading on.

I was really unimpressed with Bissouma's last two seasons, but I'd be willing to give him some time under Frank, as he bossed a lot of the games I saw him play for Brighton and there is something there for sure, He hasn't really earned it but I like a good story arc.

I buck the trend and actually rate Johnson for who he is - and he, if deployed correctly as you said, can have a big impact.

Same goes for the most part for everyone. I don't think people can have it both ways - and that isn't to say we don't need reinforcements but i think writing players off when you feel the manager was the biggest issue is a bit absurd.

I'd say the entire argument that Ange horrendously underperformed in the league is that many if not all of these players are better than what they have shown so far under him barring the first 10 games of last season, I don't think it's an amazing squad but I would consider "par" for this squad as it stands to be competing for 5th-8th. If Frank finishes within those positions in his first season I would consider that a good showing for his first season, especially working from finishing 17th the term before and having a CL campaign to juggle. Any talk of judging him on titles won in his first season is fucking absurd, firstly not even Pep Guardiola walking into an already very good Man City side that signed Gundogan, Stones and Leroy Sané won a trophy in his first season at City, secondly we have only just broken a 17 year trophy duck.

I would say that's obscene and no one would ever pay it but they did get £65m out of us for Solanke which was about £25m too much IMO...

£65m was market prices for striker last year so I kind of understood it.

£70m from Semenyo is them telling us to fuck off, they put the same price on Zabarnyi

They already sold Kerkez and Huijsen, doubt they wanna sell anymore players.

If Solanke had a few years of numbers backing up that fee fair enough, for me £65m for a striker who had only ever hit double figures in the championship prior to his 19 in 38 season with Bournemouth is absurd, regardless of English tax. For what he's contributed so far I can't escape the feeling if our scouting was more on point for first team players last summer we could have found a similar player at much better value on the European market. As you say it's the price of PL experience but Solanke is not the type of special player worth that kind of outlay and never will be, even though I think he can (and will have to be, considering the fee) useful for us over the next couple of seasons.

Reading loads of thoughts like this and you can call me a contrarian but I really hope the club aren’t thinking this way with the squad build,

It can sound cool and buzz wordy to say Frank is flexible and tactically adaptable but he’s also just a coach and we’ve seen how long those last at this club.

If this idea is shared by the club that they can just sign the best deal because Frank is adaptable enough to make it work, the most likely outcome with the history of this club is that we sack him in 18 months and we’re left with a hodge podge mish mash nothing of a squad that fits nobody

Have no clue what that X account is on about, if we go into next season with Bentancur and Bissouma as the spine of our midfield again we’re setting up Frank to fail.
