Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

the hilarious thing is we could have got him by activating the 6m release clause last season but decided against it.
He has a year left on his contract with Sunderland. Transfer market has him at €8M. They notoriously undervalue but, even if his value was double that, with just a year left, I doubt he'd cost too much more than the release clause was valued at, and he's had a further year of Championship Football where, by all accounts, he's really grown as a Footballer. Had we exercised the clause, it's debatable whether he'd have had the same sort of growth with us or out on loan.

That is a little harsh - Udogie is already a very good player who will develop into one of the very best LBs in world football and is already one of the best in the league IMO. Last year he missed all of pre-season after very significant quadricep surgery and then was played relentlessly in the first 3 months of the season until he broke down again. The fact Ange chose not to play Spence at all in that period was negligent. Once Udogie returned got some games under his belt, with his minutes managed through rotation for a few months, he looked consistently brilliant again (April onwards).

We do have the foundations of a very good squad with potential. As players like Bergvall (19), Gray (19), Tel (20), Udogie (22), Sarr (22), Odobert (20), Donley (20), Kinsky (22), Dragusin (23), Moore (17) and Vuskovic (18) grow into their potential it is essential that we invest in the right type of 'peak years' player to help them improve and gain consistency, and do not invest in even more youth. Our academy has a conveyor belt in place with the right manager.

Porro (25), VDV (24), Kulusevski (25), Johnson (24), Spence (24) are all about to hit their peak years (26-30) . What we are missing is 2 or 3 more top players aged 26-30. Vicario (27), Bentancur (27), Maddison (28), Solanke (27) and Romero (27) all fall into that category for me (although Vicario needs to stop shitting the bed on corners!). I would be looking to replace Davies, Son, Richarlison (too injury prone) and Bissouma (too inconsistent) with peak year players with the right characteristics.

Replace Son with Eze (26).
Replace Davies with Collins (24).
Replace Richarlison with Mbuemo (25).
Replace Bissouma with Luiz (27).
Richarlison must stay. Big things from him the next two years.

Solanke will probably be sold next summer. Very low quality footballer.

Richarlison is made of glass. Levy would sell him tomorrow to Saudi if he could but richarlison doesn’t fancy it yet

Solanke not very low quality. He will run through brick walls and score 15 goals a season. Perfect backup. We do need a striker but Richarlison certainly isn’t the one.

Perfect bit of PR to either boost the price or soften up the fans to make it look a better transfer

Tbh I don’t hate it because he’s young and actually pretty highly rated

Academy kids are good for club culture as well
You seen his injury record?

Also, you wanna push Udogie, you don't sign Cirkin.

But yeah he's CT and Chelsea want him according to Spurs' PR dept.

That’s exactly what it would be for rather than running one of the first choices into the ground as you say.

Bring Cirkin in for one of the easier cup games when you draw a Tamworth or like ……….. oh!

:mourcry:
What 3/4 max games a season? No if they buy him he will have to play more than that or we will run into the same injury or form problems like last season.

To seal up our LB spot and get an extra CL roster spot? Bargain.

The guy who has the literacy level of a springer spaniel is now suddenly aristotle

Surely he can ring his own chairman and tell him to pay us the money if he wants Romero that badly.
Romero won’t buy into Frank at all. Imperative he’s sold before he returns for pre season as he will undermine Frank, real culture clash that. Frank is a good mgr but not for the pull for stellar players, he’s perfect for West Ham, BHA, Fulham level which is exactly where our ambition as club sits. Average, mid table club with zero ambition, our USP is the wealthy fan base as without that, we are the level of those three under ENIC

Happy to sell if someone pays up, we shouldn't be selling below his value just because he wants to leave, that's not how it works - we're not some fucking cuck club and should accept stupid money just because a player is throwing his toys out the pram.

Also Romero better lock in this season, World Cup year and all that, can't afford to be finding himself on the bench when he's pulling in half arsed performances when he needs to play to get rhythm for his NT.
