Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He basically did what most of our players did last season and downed tools
So why would you want to sign someone who downs tools when the going gets tough?
Looks like he's totally polarized the West Ham fan base with half wanting him gone due to him being disruptive.

We already have a mob of flaky players who turn up when they fancy it and you want to bring in another.

Make it make sense

Why on earth should we trust Frank? Has no history or experience of managing a big club, or big players

Why would players like Romero and Kudus who have won international tournaments buy into his maniacal, chewing gum rants? There’s a chance he gets the changing room onside but my instinct says there’s more chance of a Nuno / 10 game sacking happening
Chelsea’s manager has even less experience of even managing a big club before he joined them. What about Slot, didn’t exactly come from one of the major leagues.

Their transfer debts are all pretty similar to ours, they were posted last month by someone. It’s just this year’s excuse.
But he wants to win titles guys...

Tottenham have already offered a £5m loan with an option to buy but Wolves have rejected it and they value the 25-year-old at £40m. Spurs were also said to be keen on a loan with an obligation to buy for £40m next summer.

Spurs had been working on a deal for Traore, a player with whom Nuno Espirito Santo loved working with from his years as Wolves manager, over the past week. There were transfer fees of £40m mooted, which seems like a lot for a swole dribble monster with an unproven record of finishing.

Mendes has proposed a £34m move to Tottenham for Traore, with Wolves then given the chance to sign Goncalo Guedes as a replacement.

The Valencia winger would be available for around £21.5m, but both Premier League clubs would have to move fast to put everything in place.

It is also unclear whether Tottenham have the funds to meet a £34m asking price.

Dismisses ex-spurs player Robinson as being even remotely "in the know"...:andros:

...uses "Spurs Web" and "Cartilage Free Captain", "Four Four Two Staff" as sources :frankthink:

Among the options for Spurs could be an attempt to sign Traoré on loan with an option to make his move permanent for around £40m.

"options"..."could be". Sounds far more confident. Regardless, how much do you reckon a loan fee would be there... (£10m + £40m, previous history on other transfer suggest?)

I mean, why are you even obsessing over this - make a pretty throwaway comment about a previous transfer link and you're scouring the internet from three years ago and dismissing an ex-player's opinion just to, I assume, be right about something. Bit weird.

Levy, on Monday..."We want to win the Premier League....and the Champions League"

Levy, on Tuesday..."I am delighted to announce Thomas Frank. Who hasn't won a thing in his managerial career"

And Levy on Wednesday... we tried for target A but it was hard.
We then went for an alternative option that, once they have eaten their Farleys rusk and gone to playground, Frank will be able to develop and be happy with him.

Just noticed that Reguilon left on a free.
Another slice of ineptitude from Levy and co.
I seem to remember having offers back before we loaned him to United but we didn't take them and now he goes for nothing.

Another inspiring piece of business.

I think we are well off 6th with this squad.

In my opinion it has some quality but it lacks character, amd any player or way of playing who opposing manager or players fear.

When Kane left,we still had Son,who was still at it, and had introduced Maddisom who had a 10-week purple patch. Teams weren't sure. They sussed us out and we went off the boil.

Put simply we need quality reinforcements on my view.
See, I think Son has been going down hill since before Kane went. As great as Kane was, we definitely needed to spread the goals out more too, so we're on the path to doing that. I wouldn't be surprised if we're up and around the top 6 this season for the whole season.

Or just have more clever owners and accountants than Levy?

We could have sold any of the properties owned by the THFC group of companies over the last decade. ENIC wouldn’t do that though because they’d have to use their own cash.
If you want the owners of THFC to sell assets owned by THFC to ENIC then ENIC (Lewis family trust) has the resources to do it but I suspect we would all call foul (especially those of us who are small shareholders in THFC).

Without looking into the detail, what Chelsea have done is sell an asset from one subsidiary of the equivalent of THFC to another subsidiary of the equivalent of THFC and realising a paper profit in the process which satisfies PSR. It’s absolute cheating the system but eventually you have to pay the piper. Realising profit now means you realise loss later. Clearlake Capital is an investment fund, it’s not Sir Jack Walker wanting to have a football club plaything with his vast wealth.

My preference is to sign someone who is actually good, relitavely young with high potential and an excellent profile for for our squad, Kudus ticks those boxes.

RE: downing tools

That's why you bring in a manager who is known for getting the most out of players and fostering a good enviroment for them, unless you're banking on the manager being a flop...?

Kudus is 24, plenty of time for him to iron out that attitude
