Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s made up bollocks that we’ve gone for 2 right wingers?? So are you suggesting the manager doesn’t want the 2 right wingers we’ve attempted to sign this summer ??

Well yeah luckily we don’t have a manager with such a simplistic view of football and he clearly knows a team that came 17th need to sign players for next season.
In fact, here’s something we do know - Brentford and Frank tried to sign Brennan Johnson for four consecutive windows, including the one he joined us. So we can assume that, if Frank had any power there, he likes the player. And from there, probably not consider that a player he already likes and was our top scorer, may not be the most urgent weakness to be sorted.

Champions League football, 'best stadium in the world', 'world class training facilities'... still as tinpot as ever.

I'm tired Robbie.

Sleepy GIF

Our competitive standing in the league is plummeting as we spend the lowest percentage of our fans open wallets on the team they get to watch in all of Europe, we're massively on the back foot for a managerial transition that has been in the offing for months, but sure, you're just a gross Sky Sports modern football wanker if you complain.

It's so lame.

Lol.

It's not one player. Fuck me why are some people so slow.

It's years and years of the same general approach every window.

I couldn't give a shit about Kudus specifically, but the same numpties pipe up making the same excuses for this ownership every summer, like clockwork.
It's the fact that THFC have attempted to spread the cost of Kudus, and probably Eze, over 25 years that has sunk the deals.

It's still sell to buy isn't it?

Until Spurs sell their junk nobody of note is coming through the door.

Ok. I mean, it is quite early in the window. That’s more a fact than an excuse. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be spending, but still a fact nevertheless.

Reserving judgement at close of the window is too early for me. I’d rather judge at the end of a career. Every season someone like West Ham or Everton “win the window” and do fuck all.

And it does take time too. Sometimes. Sometimes not. Some clubs get some transfers done fast. Some others seem they do, as they keep things quiet until the end. Some clubs struggle to get stuff over the line. Man Utd did Cunha in about 10 minutes. However, how’s Mbuemo looking?

Yeah but at least they've made a substantial signing and are well on the way to securing a second.

Look you can come back and forth all you like but it's very obvious in terms of how we operate.

You only have to look at the wages/turnover ratio...that highlights our footballing ambition, or lack of, perfectly.

And it correlates with how we look at bringing players in. For example, taking advantage of players with x remaining years on contract seems to be a popular one.

I've never got the feeling that we've really taken the bull by the horns and really gone after players who will make a real difference NOW.

I'm all for buying talent for the future but not if it's starting to turn into the majority of our strategy.

So you consider it fact that Frank tried to sign Brennan but it’s not fact that we have tried to sign mbeumo and kudus ?

You brought Johnson up not me anyway, but we do desperately need wide players and the fact the only players we are being heavily linked with are wide players would suggest the club agrees.

To be fair on levy here, he did throw into the offer a 3 month subscription of men only wank mag and, a 6 month loan of a Vauxhall Viva.
No body can say we didn't try.

It’s crazy to me that people want us to drop 65-70m on Kudus when he’s scored 13 goals and 9 assists in 2 full PL seasons. His end product is worse than Johnson’s and everyone on here bitches about how bad he is all the time
