Where do you guys see Odebert being best under Frank? Actually think he and Tel both may take big steps forward this year. Certainly need at least one to do so.

But a lot of maybes on the squad at this point. Need more (positive) certainties.

I too have read Abramovich's Wikipedia page.

A petty gangster who owes every penny to his name to theft and fraud to be sure, but his involvement in the Putin regime is very much overstated.
he handpicked putin to replace yeltsin and won 'the mineral wars' after the fall of the soviet union. joe lewis' tax dodging currency trading isn't even in the same dimension as abramovich. geezus

How has currency trading reached such epic levels of outrage ?

I dislike Joe Lewis but only because hes such a tight cunt with our football club ….. last I checked he doesn’t have a side hustle in defenestration

Kudus looks good to be honest. Saw an interview from teammates of his saying that he's so strong and impossible to get the ball off of in training. Which is definitely something we need more of.

My main concern is where he ends up playing. His preferred position seems to be RM. But with Johnson and Kulusevski there the reality is that we're more likely to need Kudus playing LW and centrally. Internet seems to think he can play in all three positions but reality is often a different thing.

The fact we've got the highest outstanding transfer fee bill in the league is a bit depressing and with ENIC at the helm it's unlikely we're going to go all out and really improve. Just gotta hope Thomas Frank is able to get this squad working. But Kudus definitely seems like a step in the right direction.
That's not true.

Cheating is breaking the rules and Chelsea keep finding loopholes around the rules so you are technically right that they have not cheated yet.

But Chelsea are so dirty man. It's clear as day that what they've done is wrong but they've cooked the books to cover their arses. Selling hotels and their women's teams to parent companies and writing off bad debts just so they can show blown up revenues. That's dirty. To me it's cheating. They just got away it it. They are no better than city.

In fact Chelsea have always been the biggest problem. They set the standard and always have. PSG and City followed their model but the rules changed to stop them. Chelsea just timed it all right.
How the hell have they had two separate owners that for 25 years, have both been prepared to lump in £150M+ every season to keep them competitive? That’s about 4BN - could you imagine if our owners invested similar?

We still have our history in tact.

Meanwhile; sport-swashing only works if the people let them (both the washers and the washed) forget.

......Unfortunately far far far too many just envy them instead.
It’s largely been eroded and forgotten. The ambition, skill, glory and innovation is in black and people under the age of 45 rightly see us as a meme, rather the first club to win the double, in Europe, sigh World Cup winners etc

Again.... Worth reminding you that the OG point was about the massive shit-stained caveat that undermines their successes: CHEATING.

Nor have any my posts have attempted to determine who's owners have the clearer conscience (nor did the poster you first responded to either).

As per your constant grumblings; Lewis's wealth hasn't been injected to drive our club.......... So again; it's not apples v apples.

We can be proud of the trophy we just won... Even their most recent once comes with a fresh additional caveat.
There’s two arguments against those bastards - cheating, like City can be debated as to whether they’ve actually broken rules…. The other is the sportswashing which can’t be debated. Clearly, without huge owner investment their clubs wouldn’t win shit and would be lucky to be mid table. Not sure what my point is tbh but we are the other extreme…. Zero owner investment, pure organic growth based on the fanbase and the commercial flair of the board to milk the cow.

To close off the ramble, it highlights what we could achieve with a one off investment of say 500M, by selling a minority stake or something similar to create funds. Would really enable us to buy 5 or so young players that would transform us now, and create addtl funds for outer years as we could flip players and create cash flow cycles in other windows which has been a huge failure

I like Kudus and we will sign him.

A step in the right direction, he’s comfortable on the ball, always shows for it and is unpredictable/creative. Different option to out average wide players like Johnson, Kulu, Son, Odo and Tel who are all fairly basic

Now get at least one more footballer into the central midfield that has good get and can play, Locatelli. Ideally Eze as well and that will do us. Promote a few youngsters for squad places eg Devine and the Croat CB and move some on

Nice, Ornstein the best source out there,

POK said on twitter that Kudus wants to play RW primarily going forward, whatever truth there is in that. His numbers there are good when Bowen has been out to be fair

I’m sure we are looking to get rid of Richarlison so another forward on top of a kudus type will be needed , then we need a proper number 6, a number 10 cos Madison cannot play every week and can’t even last 90 . A left back to cover Udogie . That the bear minimum we need .

I understand why Frank might be looking at Kudus as his Mbuemo alternative, but God Damn we have an insane amount of wingers.

How the hell does it make any sense to have Son, Tel, Kulu, Johnson, Moore, Odobert and even Gill competing for two spots and then spend £50m on another one, when we have Solanke as our only out and out striker - and he scores an average of just 7-10 goals a season? Unless Son is being kept as reserve striker only. Tel certainly isnt a natural there.

Son, Soloman and Gill are all for sale. We'll have to loan Odobert or Moore if we can't sell them all
