Not Wikipedia mate BILL BROWDER. Seriously you are just showing your ignorance. Wiki Browder then buy Red Notice or listen to any of the dozens of interviews he's given on exactly Romans involvement and complicity. Seriously I fucking hate are owners but shiny cups and bragging rights are NOT worth Roman Fucking Abramovich. 😒
Listen, I am certainly not here to defend the gang of kleptocrats who raped Russia of its resources in the post-Soviet period and have retained their position via the bloodthirsty Putin regime.

And none of this is really about football, and probably belongs in a different thread.

My point really is that "tax dodging" really sanitizes what the class of person for which Lewis is a perfect (and pretty individually wretched) exemplar have done and are doing to the world and its institutions. The Lewis Class has cost immeasurably more human life and human suffering in the world than the Abramovich Class, despite the latter being basically intentionally malevolent and violent.

And the other thing is that Joe Lewis did not grow up in an anarchic failed state, though he's doing his best to leave one behind.

Again, nothing really to do with football, and I am certainly not here to defend the Russian oligarchs. Carry on.

Hugo's drop off came fast but IMO he was amazing for the first 3-4 seasons in a Spurs shirt and certainly a much better keeper than Vicario if comparing peak-for-peak.
Honestly Hugo didn't really drop off, the tactical and technical demands on the goalkeeping position just changed.

As a "sweeper keeper" he was excellent but he never possessed the qualities needed for the "deep-lying playmaker keeper"

In any event, for him and Vicario, shot-stopping is the core and #1 most important quality in a keeper IMO, making both of them underrated.

People were saying the same about the squad Poch inherited that shar the bed under AVB and Sherwood. This squad had talent that was not
utilised correctly.
Well we are going to find out who is right fairly soon , no way Frank gets the reinforcements I think he needs . By November we will have a pretty good idea , if I’m right it’s too late to correct and the season will be wasted , if you are right I will be super happy . I want to be wrong

Lloris was a very good goalkeeper but probably had the worst feet I've seen on a football pitch in my lifetime. I was just happy for him to boot it out halfway into our own half trying to find one of the fullbacks which must of happened 500 times in the years he was here.

It’s a player our manager clearly wants? AAAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!

Man, seriously, stop it with that shite. You must know that’s made up bollocks when you type it?

As for desperately needing upgraded and who I’d play right wing - I’d not sign anyone and play our top scorer there instead. But I’m one of those weird old fashioned cunts that like my attackers to attack and score goals and my defenders to defend and stop goals.
Don’t go there my friend, you’ll get caught in the vortex…

Love your posts but that’s a wild take about a World Cup winning captain.

Is your take that Vorm was better than Hugo?

Or that beating Colchester is harder than Chelsea?

I didn't say anything about Vorm being better than Hugo.

But bear in mind this wasn't abnormal:

And this was the world cup winning captain in said world cup final.

Cup games are won on moments, not ability. Is beating Colchester harder than Chelsea? I don't know why the point is specific about Colchester, but our FA Cup exits suggest that yes - non-PL teams are harder to beat than PL teams, apparently.

Vicario made some monster saves in the EL final and kept a clean sheet, which is a key part of why we scraped through to a win

I am using Poch squad as a measurement in a debate about our squad being miles off competing in a CL and PL campaign . Some people think we are decent , I think our first eleven bar 4 or 5 is average and the depth is non existent

The Poch arguement though is most of those players he made good. Rose, Dembele, Walker were a shambles before he came.

Frank had his coaches seem to have a track record of player improvement and tactical flexibility similar to Poch. So hopefully a lot of our players will reach and play far more to their potential at least over a 2-3 year timeframe.

I think on its own we can look to around 5-8th. I do think there is a lot more to come from our younger players. My concern beyond quality is squad balance. Tons of Left wingers and Right Centre backs but few right wingers, left backs and left centre backs.

I'd say Hugo very definitely did drop off, his best period for us IMO was when he first came in but that could easily have been because we'd had pretty shite keepers for years prior to that, I think the real watershed was pre and post 2019 UCL final though tbh, as you say his shot stopping was always his defining quality as a keeper and there were an awful lot of howlers in the final few years of his Spurs career tbh. Prior to that it was like his gloves and the ball were both made of velcro.
I think Vic needs to sort it out or get shipped off next season tbh, had a good first season but been very questionable in a number of areas this season, good at low % saves but some of the simple ones that he doesn't catch cleanly end up generating more opposition chances, and his control of area seriously needs sorting out, hopefully this whiz GK coach we've picked up from Pool can work that aspect of his game.

Johnson scores in Ange’s system. Frank will play differently, perhaps he won’t score so many in Frank’s system However, the fact that Fr k wanted him at Brentford could mean he has plans for him so he might continue scoring or even get more. If he had gone to Brentford he would have been in the same position as Mbeumo so could Frank be thinking of playing him in a slightly different position? Who knows?
Hope it’s fun finding out …. I reckon he does it again
