Real Betis have just announced a contract extension for Johnny Cardoso, their US midfield player, until 2030.
This won't affect the 25m euros (£21m equivalent) option to buy that Spurs negotiated in their deal to offload Lo Celso - the option can only be triggered in a 2 week period early in summer 2025 transfer window - if Spurs do not exercise their option the contract extension likely puts up the price of Cardosa who sems to remain Betis standout performer this season.
Possibly a good upgrade on Bissouma at a bargain price ? I assume Lange is keeping a constant eye on his performances.
Dibbling dribbling and Trippier tripping
Required - First team good enough:

RF(x2?)
LF
MF8
MF6/8
RCB (if Romero goes)
Dead wood to Shift
Richarlison
Bentancur
Johnson
Davies
(Kulusevski) if we can sign two decent RF's.
How can you list Kulu as potential deadwood...Required - First team good enough:

Playing FIFA / football manager again. Sorry Kulu has to go because he's only got 74 pace
Martin Ødegaard got 69 and Rodri got 66 when it comes to pace...Playing FIFA / football manager again. Sorry Kulu has to go because he's only got 74 pace![]()
I would add Drag to that list.Required - First team good enough:

Dread to think how we will fuck this one up.
Maybe there should be a poll at the top as to which area of the team people think will be left short after this window.
I'm still going with right wing.
I suspect the deal and or money distribution might have changed with his new contract - as his sales value is a lot higher to any 3rd party after contract extension which Betis would receive, so it maybe that Spurs get a bigger share in $ terms.
The thing is we have never seen anything explaining in detail what the whole clause was - just a few throw away comments to journalists - so no idea whether we are better off buying him at 25m and maybe reselling him 6 months later at double that price (which caps amount Betis gets to 25m) or whatever.
But Levy has a few months to go back to Betis with ideas on how to split the player sale proceeds to benefit both Betis and Spurs if an improved plan is needed
