Watching Vitinha last night made me a bit more interested in Angel Gomes. Obviously not at the same level as the former, but that type of elusive passer who can just pop it off and go is attractive to me. Just need the right blend around him.

Maybe. I don’t think Vitinha is quite Modric but he’s very good. Gomes is very elusive though. If it wasn’t for his size he would have never have been allowed to leave the PL.
And his contract until 2028 cancelled.
If we can get to a system with a genuine CAM, I can't see why Gomes couldn't be part of a CAM rotation with either Maddison or Kulusevski. Seeing that we have both under contract right now, and that is their likely long term position though, I'm not sure we'll be prioritizing moves for CAMs this next window.
Vitinha was something else though in the Liverpool tie though, eh? Fucking hell what I wouldn't give to watch him play for us! Something to aspire for!
