Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah, if the height of our ambition is signing fucking Raskin Bobbins from the Beyond the Wall Pub League that might be the final straw for me...
Imagine that.

PL position: 3rd (2016), 2nd (2017), 3rd (2018), 4th (2019). CL finalists in 2019. Manager, players, style of play lauded by the media & teams/fans from all over. Our own fanbase pretty much united and at peace.

Perfect platform to build on and go win shit, yeah? What ambitious clubs do, right?

<<Daniel Levy has joined the chat>>

No new players for 500+ days. Sack Poch. Cue Mason, Jose (Rodon for Skriniar), Mason, Nuno, Mason, Conte (Danjuma lol), Stellini, Mason...and now Mr 97th pick from Z-list leagues. After being publicly turned down by Slot, Nagelsmann and any other manager worth his pound of salt.

From Lloris, Toby, SuperJan, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Walker, D-Rose, Kane...to Broken Bodies & Kiddos Inc...missing out on serious talent in between cause we argued over pennies...but eh, best wages to turnover ratio in PL history!

And that's after having built & opened our game-changer of a £1bn megadome. But who else got their own cheesy baguettes partner from Paris Seoul?

2025: yeah boys, we're signing Rangers' star DM and Reading's top striker also on the way with a 14yo inverted FB from Dag & Red...jeez volcano incoming, wear your protective glasses!

man city tipped to go for him arent they. probably why they put up that figure to get something closer to 70/80 mil from them.

no doubt Levy/Lange probably figured it would be a nice 30 million plus add ons type deal once they go down.

can understand the need when Brennan is stinking up that right wing, and most of the others are more left wing but could just try and develop Yang min and Ajayi, the latter especially

We have already extended for next season, one assumes that is not with a view to selling him as would make more sense to negotiate a 2 year deal at that point, think the club is fairly accepting of the idea that his form next season will dictate whether he is offered an extension again or not. I personally doubt he will be, he will be 34 when his contract expires and is on high wages, he hasn't played anywhere near well enough this season to warrant that kind of outlay, and he will play for the South Korea team as long as he is getting regular football at a decent standard, he probably feels he can keep going to nearer 40 for the national team. I think he will leave on a free at the end of his deal, I sincerely hope we take the captaincy off him and reduce his match load next season as well as I don't think he's good enough to be a starting XI player for where our aspirations are any more and the captaincy only ensures it's a difficult decision for the manager to drop him for any length of time. If your captain is fit, he plays.

Unfortunately, Son is now merely taking valuable minutes off the team of tomorrow we are trying to build. Moore will be 18 next season, perfect time for him to start being a rotational player in the league if he really is an elite talent, but with Son and Odobert ahead of him in the pecking order what minutes do we realistically give him barring an injury crisis?
Son has been an elite prem league player for a decade, and gave us the best days of his career, I bear him no ill will if he sees out his contract and leaves for free. At the same time if we get the right offer and he is properly replaced and money is invested wisely then so be it.

Still think he can have an impact next year, albeit with less playing time and under a proper coach. It is a huge ask for someone like Odobert or Moore to fill his boots.

He should not be captain, especially if seeing less playing time as he ages.

It's the dilemma of whether he has regressed because of age or because the coach is clueless, yet he is still in the top 10 of player ratings and assists and just outside top 20 of goals scored on sofascore stats.
He may not be the player he once was, but we might regret letting him go just so Levy can boast about milking him all his career and then getting a transfer fee as well. He may be frustrating at times, but he stuck by us when others did not.

They don't, it's just 'fuck off, he's not for sale' money

They will sell with a year left. What they should have done is said £70m so that way they get £45-50m for him by starting high. Instead they came out with a silly number, wouldn’t be surprised if they got worked down to £30-35m, they come across as amateur, Levy and other clubs will smell blood.

Rumour in the Jan window was him signing for us for 50m with a loan back til the end of this season......... Even that seemed expensive with (what would be) just one year on his deal and him only being 19 with only 17 EPL starts under his belt.

Them clinging onto him for one more CHAMPO season and losing him for nish would be dumb as fuck.
