Romero replacement
Would be very happy with that scenario. Bigger fish than us will snaffle him up though.

At this point who cares? We aren't even fielding full squads anymore. Better somebody there than nobody. Levy/Ange and co can't even figure out how to put together a full roster.
No- we'd be fine. That's a fine basis for a central midfield in the Prem.

I don't think these players being mentioned are at all "bad"- I think they'd do fine for us. We're terrible right now- in absolutely no way whatsoever do I think having David on the pitch would be worse than Brennan Johnson for us. I can easily see Gomes being an upgrade on Bissouma, simply by being able to play competent football.
We're absolutely dying for a decent coach. Levy and ENICs spending habits are simply something that have to be navigated around.
Obviously I would like it we spent like drunken sailors, but we are not going to do that. A lot of what I am suggesting is because it's actually realistically foreseeable while under the Levy/ENIC regime.
How else is THFC under Levy/ENIC gonna do anything if not "on the cheap"? On the cheap should be everyone's base-case.
We are definitely undercoached. I think we have the makings of a really decent team one or two players who can take people on a top 4 team. But sadly not with this manager.
We're losing a shit load of games because Ange is a shit manager. We won't be losing or winning any games based on Bentancur or Bissouma's presence or not either- they're extremely average midfielders.
No arguments from me regarding the manager but you suggested replacing one shit midfield for another, what's the point?
Id sell Biss and Bentancur and put the money towards the best no 6 we can get and that isn't Gomes or Cardoso imo
We already bought Gray specifically for the 6 role. If we don't try him there at least one season, it was/is a huge waste. Cardoso and Gray can be a fine pair of 6s for us next season and beyond. If not we can try again the next summer.

Gray is 19 though. He ends up a 6 for sure IMO and his defensive awareness and understanding of all 4 positions in the backline will have helped him big time but he has plenty of time on his side before he needs to lock it down.
Cardoso or another 6, we only need 1. Especially because Bergvall also looks pretty good back there as well. What we need in another creative #8 as well IMO.
Not sure about bentacur. With right midfield quality around him hes a top player. Reminds me of busquets at Barcelona. Mixture of Ange frenetic and shit tactics has made him look a bad player. I'd keep him. Bissouma I would let go.
