Agree.

Gray is 19 though. He ends up a 6 for sure IMO and his defensive awareness and understanding of all 4 positions in the backline will have helped him big time but he has plenty of time on his side before he needs to lock it down.

Cardoso or another 6, we only need 1. Especially because Bergvall also looks pretty good back there as well. What we need in another creative #8 as well IMO.

Lamine Yamal is Barca's key player and he's under 20 years of age. No reason whatsoever Gray can't do something similar, unless you don't really believe in him, that is.

Tearing up the wings as a teenager is a bit different to bossing the MF in the EPL.

I like the signing of Gray simply cos he's a good footballer; but one has to wonder if he develops the physicality that being an EPL #6 typically requires. His final form could still potentially be #8 or CB.

In life I always like a positive negative at least you know where you stand then.
Dibling won't go for anything approaching £100m but whatever it is we are priced out of it now so can forget him.

Then we let him split games with Cardoso next season while he aggressively works on his body the other half of the time. He is not going to get better without experience playing the position at the level required.

If/when Gray gets ripped, he is going to end up looking very much like Clark Kent or some other Percival-esque knight of Arthurian legend. Drogba/Essien abs/cut kinda stuff!

I'm not really worried about growing pains or if we lose some games- we are already losing incredible amounts of games.

I wonder if Forest could be tempted by a load of cash (presumably from a Romero sale) plus Brennan Johnson in some kind of deal for Murillo... every time I see Murillo im impressed by him

The Summer links are already depressing. Dibling the marquee signing for stupid money.

We ain't paying 100m for Dibling; don't be silly.

Cardosa for the cheap price and Gomes on a free. Not one of them would even start for us!

Don't get the Gomes link at all. He's just a poorer lighter version of Bentancur. Amazing what English tax can do.

English tax? .......He'd be free!

As for Cardos; he's only "cheap" cos of an agreement we already have in place with Betis that was granted as a potential payment in kind for Lo Celso........ He'd be more expensive otherwise.

Getting "depressed" over mere links and one's own over-egged interpretation of them is a foolish game.

Clark Kent a knight of Arthurian legend? The most underrated knight of King Arthur was the one who actually designed and built the famous ‘ round table ‘. That was Sir Cumference.

He fully can. Bergvall as well.

I’m just saying he doesn’t have to be yet as well. He still has time.

Yamal is putting a lot of KMs into young legs. Barca are going to burn him out before his prime if they aren’t careful.

I understand what you are saying- we can’t afford not to try and start a player we paid 40m for though. 5 year typical contract window we need to be looking to make these players core players or move them on.

Wouldn't say no if we got him on a free at 200k a week.

We need some experience players to help our kids develop, and Werner isn't it!

If we win Europa and get Champs League, I'm pretty sure the door would open to better (and younger) options.

Priority has to be ditching Bissouma and getting a boss in midfield. I'd be quite happy to spend all the Romero money on Bruno G and break our salary ceiling. Newcastle are in an FFP pickle, and will need to sell, and if they don't get champs league, I can see Isak and Bruno wanting to move.

What’s the point of experience if the player isn’t good enough to impact games at PL level anymore?

Grealish hasn’t done anything in a PL game for over a year now and he’s been surrounded by elite talent in every position.
