Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Levy and ENIC see the football side of the club and the stadium as two different entities.

The football club is self sufficient, spends only what it makes. The stadium events such as NFL, music concerts and rugby amongst other things fund their property portfolio and other adventures. The stadium was only ever built for them to use that as a cash cow for their other ideas outside of football. They could just offset the loan debt against the football club.

They weren’t bothered about us winning Europa, they were just happy we qualified for the champions league. They’d swap that cup win for a 4th place finish every day of the week.

They’ll be licking their lips at the prospect of Bergvall, Udogie, Van de Ven being touted at £70-80m in a couple of years.
I thought it was stated that those other revenue streams were all used to support the football? This is going back a year or two, but I'm pretty sure it was a club statement. Or at least an official one. Could just be lies, but would be easy enough to prove/disprove.

Lost our two A list targets Cordoso and Gomes.

Now time for the plan B options.

A list 😂😂😂😂😂

Don't really see the point in people like him and Endrick moving to Madrid.

They would be better off at somewhere like Dortmund, Leipzig, Villareal or even Spurs. Play for 2 or 3 years then get the big move.
But then it costs Madrid 3 times as much to sign them. Get them now, it’s much cheaper and if they don’t work out you still sell them for decent money because they’re Madrid players.

Sorry but anyone who is saying anything different to this is in denial or flat out lying.

Winning is an incredible feeling. Even when it was technically other people on the pitch who won, they still won that for every spurs fan.

It was an awful game of football. The highlight was VDV clearing the ball off of our goal line.

If that doesn't matter to you then you may as well have just watched the last few seconds and enjoyed the final whistle, then watched the post match celebrations.

With regards to the celebrations, to me it seemed over the top, as if we had played like 1970's Brazil. The reality is two shit teams played and we won with our one shot on target in the whole match, and the victory wasn't worth celebrating more than a gentle clap, a photo with the trophy, then everyone goes home to bed.

Not what we are seeing for sure.

How can I define that with all.due resoect? It's personal but I do think objectively that we need to see something more meaningful or it will resemble the promise of a good summer that never arrives.

Then you ask what does a good summer look like and I will say better than the dross that we are seeing right now, but.....

Right, but it's the 6th of June

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Palacios and Bakayoko signed before this mini window closes. The summer window proper isn't actually open yet though

Correct, but I think the rumblings of discontent need to be quelled, and the best way to do that is to get what looks like effective business done, with the real perception that more is to come.

And of course it's made worse when other big to biggish clubs move quickly.

Another fine exhibit of ENIC’s glorious transfer/recruitment strategy.

12 million quid down the shitter.
Fine with punts like this but should have moved him on last summer. It is all about player churn that is how Brighton do their transfers even Nottingham Forest did that. You have to not worry about losing money on the players and you sign quantity, look at Barco he will be moved on this summer and he was signed for a similar fee.
