I think if Thomas Frank is appointed which most of us probably do expect this to happen sometime this week

He is the perfect manager to just get on with the squad he inherits with just a few incomings and quite minimal outgoings Romero and Son are the big names i can see moving on which is no hardship.

I also see Paratici playing a key role on his return to make a deal with Juventus for Dusan Vlahovic to lighten the load on Solanke and Richy next season

I think squad wise we are in fairly good shape with 3 - 4 additions we'll be ok under Frank's stewardship.

I also don't buy into this crap about Thomas Frank's lack of experience at elite clubs and no ECL experience it really is pathetic.
At some time or another every single coach who manages sides who play in ECL had zero experience too so its just a load of paper talk again.

Frank has mixed it up and outfoxed world class managers in the premier league with a tiny club who were punching above there weight in league one just 20 years ago.

Celtic seem to be on the verge of losing one of Scottish football's most highly-rated youngsters to the Premier League. As reported by Mark Hendry on Substack, Conall Glancy is poised to make the move to join Tottenham Hotspur. He is on the radar of many clubs down south but Spurs are leading the race to sign him.

No, me neither. U16 apparently.

His wurk at Celtic makes thus a nae brainer te sign fe hum at Spuhs..m I canne wait te get sturted!!"

:ange-hands-head::ange-facepalm:

"Wait, he's what???"

The Branthwaite links make me think that Frank is considering using 3 ATB fairly regularly and possibly playing Branthwaite at LB whilst sending Porro or Spence much further forward. Branthwaite has def played some LB for Everton

I think Branthwaite has played no more than a handful of times at LB over last 3 seasons for Everton, so it might be that's only in emergency rather than him being a natural LB..

Only reason Branthwaite is a possibility is because Everton are keen on Richarlison so could see a deal there where Spurs need to cough up an extra 20m on top.

Honestly not sure its a great move for Branthwaite. His best position is LCB and he's not taking that role off VDV, so he'll be looking at being a squad player who will play loads but often after left back or RCB too.

Great deal for us though if we get him! This is the type of squad depth we need! But just can't see him agreeing to come here. He'll have other big clubs looking at him who could offer him a guaranteed LCB starting spot. Newcastle for example, he walks into that position over Dan Burn. Maybe if we sell Romero then we could offer him more of a guarantee but he's left footed so not sure he'd be starting RCB over Danso. I hope he sign him anyway!

I think we are sitting on an absolute goldmine of young CB talent right now in Vusk, Phillips and Dorrington. We need to be really focusing on developing these players rather than shelling out for ready-made backups- especially since we already have them within the club. The money can be spent relatively better elsewhere within the squad.

It is really boring, but in two or three years time we'll be sorted for home grown / club trained. With Moore, Donley, Bergvall, Gray, etc. all being club trained as well, we'll be in a great position.

Unless Frank intends to play 3 at the back away from home.

Can't wait for Club World Cup to begin - it will mean both ManCity and Chelsea have finished all (or most if not) of their buying (which drives up prices as both throw money around like its gone out of fashion) which has had to be done early for the players to be eligible to play in Club World Cup.

I'd be interested to see how better our CMs will look (Bentancur, Sarr, Bissouma) in Frank's system. He often plays a double pivot, and is less suicidal at the back as Ange (in that there is less space to exploit). Sarr, Bentancur and Bissouma coudl all look like knew players! Bergvall could excel. And Maddison may flourish as his 10.

This club world cup will also fuck their season right up. Their players will not get any kind of break.

I thought the whole POINT was to assemble a SQUAD of 1st team players...?

Not be 'down to the bare bones' as soon as VDV & Romero are injured???

Makes sense to have the likes of Branthwaite to ADD to Danso, (Dragusin?) Vuskovic... to give us FIRST team depth!

The window is open early between Sunday June 1 and Tuesday June 10 due to an exceptional registration period for the expanded 2025 Club World Cup.

The 2025 summer transfer window will then open again on Monday June 16 until Deadline Day on Monday September 1.

This is a problem in our fanbase.

We’ve been so conditioned by Levynomics that we’re debating which one out of 2 completely different players we should sign.

Why the debate? Because they are both established PL and international players who will cost the going rate and Levy’s model only allows for one player like that per window.

What’s the point in the protests if the fans are self-perpetuating this for him?

It is both. Especially if Son does leave.

Serious clubs would push to bring both in. Then you have both wings covered for 3 or 4 seasons.
