I really like Simons but I’m doubtful of his ability to endure the physicality of the EPL, whereas Eze is proven. Levy could pay the 60 mil up front he’s just too much of a tight arse.

Son (who hasn't left)
Moore

who are all more comfortable on the left. We have Johnson who is more comfortable on the right and Kulu at an absolute push.

Yer that's how it looks right now imo. Also we don't know how frank intends to use tel. I think we will need 7 players to cover the front 3 positions.
I'm holding my horses on blasting the recruitment until it's all done and dusted. We all think we know how it will pan out but we don't yet really.
I'm still fairly confident that we will get an established quality attacked and dm/cm.

Time will tell.

I watched the charity game the other day and both Defoe and Lennon were outstanding.

A prime Defoe would be excellent in the current team. Would suit Frank more than Ange style.

Well regarding 2nd point - that is exactly what I am saying- i've watched him play and I don't see it.
He has some very good qualities but something is missing. It might still appear there, but there are "generational talents" coming from Eredivise on yearly basis. Another one being de Ligt. CB that peaked at what... 20 ?

Huntelaar was "generational talent, destined for the top" etc. Reality is that Simons saw his market value starting to decrease already now. In Germany, Draxler was massive and sensational talent. As was Havertz. Literally so many of them.

Absolutely Simons might go on to be among best attacking players but it remains to be seen and proven.
P.S not sure how one could be even considered "generational talent" if we are seeing 5y younger lad doing things that are three if not four heads above what Simons has done so far?

Yep. It's hard to remember, but aside from Eriksen there were huge questions about all of those (Kane, Son, Eriksen, and Dele) when they first arrived in the squad.

Kane was an awkward looking CF that didn't seem exceptional in any way that just seemed to be fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.

Son was a marketing signing brought in for the benefit of AIA and our goal of growing our Asian fanbase.

Eriksen was a good signing, but a young and cheap option compared to the more established players needed.

Dele was basically considered a satirical embodiment of Levy's spending policies. The (wonderful) Dele song was initially meant to be a subtle dig at Levy. How quickly he proved everyone wrong.


Point being, ironic to say we should show ambition in spending to replace those 4 when they, themselves, we're all cheap (Son aside) and far from finished products.

I miss Defoes quick feet. He could get the ball out and absolutely smash it before a defender had noticed he had it.
A lot of his goals came when he had some one tight on him too, something we lacked for years.
I don't even think Kane was as good as scoring under pressure as that.
 
Fuck Levy. We going for Kalimuendo because he’s cheap. No attempt at Osimhen, Vlahovic, or any other established striker. Wissa would be a decent option. But no let’s go for the cheap unknown French kid. Have we ever recruited a decent player from France since Ginola? Plenty of failures though

I agree but the signing of Kalimuendo will give all the old fuckers the opportunity to revive the Chicory Tip tribute for the first time in a while.
