You don't need to pay in a lump sum, you either negotiate a higher fee with palace or finance the 65 m over 3 years and pay a lender for the privilege. ( Most fees are over 3 years last time i looked into it)

He's in his 3rd year since he signed that contract with this release clause, do you not think that a club has alresys tried to pry him away from Palace using these negotiation tactics already?

Palace ain't taking nothing other than the vary majority up front, they did exactly the same thing when they sold Olise...Bayern had to cough up the full £50m.

Putting down the £60m that Palace want is putting a lot of clubs off, that and the fact he's literally out of contract in 2 years.

I do agree it’s putting some clubs off , I also think most of the clubs that might be interested don’t need him as badly as we do . Every now and again you need to go all in , not even saying he is the guy to do it on , ( I think he is) but Woolwich paying 100 million for Rice was ballsy albeit not up front .

All this stuff is personal opinion based on what perspective one has on our financial position and wriggle room . I freely admit my bias makes me believe we could easily do it if Levy had the balls. But in the interest of balance Frank might not even want him for all I know

Vicario never looks particularly comfortable despite being able to pull off some fantastic saves.

Being consistent/reliable is essential as a GK and he’s shown many times that he’s prone to a brainfart. If Milan want him then that’s great.

This is fair but the Rice transfer was £25m over a 5 year period, it's unlike a club putting down £60m in one fell swoop for a player, it's practically unheard of which is why most deals are financed.

I think there's a massive over obsession with Eze anyway, a 6 is more important in our team than Eze IMO.
